Another meathod is when a new wave starts, all the old and dusty accounts that havent been accessed in say 30+ days gets wiped making room for a fresh start. Also (I assume that this would happen anyway) an e-mail warning you of an iminent new wave could prompt you to visit your account again to avoid deletion. This way you are not constarined to a time limit on inactivity.

I'd go with Sleipner on this one - besides there are advantages to leaving your account running, instead of using vacation mode, if you are going to be away for a while (as I have been for 1 week recently), providing you have allies/officers. And this does not involve giving your account login details to anyone else - which is, of course, illegal.

this came to me in a dream.....................well it didnt
heres my idea o let say 3 months (using 3 months as a example)
everybody in the game i mean everybody gets a small notice and the option is a giant filter unit
the active players would select this a option to verify that they are not dead accounts...this option keeps ur account intact and the player that dont respond are the dead accounts and gets deleted. a perodic update type thing.
give the message in the lines like this
it has been so and so many years the stargates around the galaxy are starting there Colative update programs and updating there StarGate address those who do not respond will have there stargate shut down for good...
what do u guys thing
