I think universal health care won't work in the US because people have a tendency to believe what others spin to make them scared to keep the status quo.
When a topic is so close to so many people it is easy to lose sight of what's said, and easier to spin what isn't said.
Things like this have happened throughout history, and even here on this forum. I see many, many parallels with the current situation in the US and event that have happened here. SGWs forums is like a small country (or at least it was).

if universal health care happens then i doubt i will pursue my career choice as a nurse anesthetist, i will most likely make much less money. yes, you can call it greed but anyone can do it, you just have to be willing to go to college for the 7 years or so. people could be doctors if they were willing to wait the 8 years of school and another 3-7 of residency. they spend alot of their time in school and so are paid more because of it. it is capitalism and so people have the right to make money. universal health care is more socialist and not what the country is based on. once again you can call me greedy but everyone has the oppurtunity if they are willing, i am poor but am getting fafsa money just like everyone else can here. flame away.

Page 22 of the HC Bill: Mandates that the Govt will audit books of all employers that self insure!!
Page 30 Sec 123 of HC bill THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get.
Page 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill: YOUR HEALTH CARE IS RATIONED!!!
Page 42 of HC Bill: The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice!
Page 50 Section 152 in HC bill: HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise
Page 58 HC Bill: Govt will have real-time access to individuals finances & a National ID Health card will be issued!
Page 59 HC Bill lines 21-24: Govt will have direct access to your banks accounts for elective funds transfer.
Page 65 Sec 164: is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community organizations: (ACORN).
Page 84 Sec 203 HC bill: Govt mandates ALL benefit packages for private HC plans in the Exchange.
Page 85 Line 7 HC Bill: Specifications for of Benefit Levels for Plans = The Govt will ration your Healthcare!
Page 91 Lines 4-7 HC Bill: Govt mandates linguistic appropriate services. Example Translation: illegal aliens.

Page 321 2-13: Hospitals have opportunity to apply for exception BUT community input is required. Can u say ACORN?!!
