we got it working now... set it to 100 for now...
reasonable reason to change it from that value can be sent to us, and it will be considered...

actually, we at least are sufficiently annoyed by 100 smileys...
you dont need 10000...
and we feel that when thousands of smileys cause problems for those some users, it is better to have a value that forces the followers of that spam faction to be creative in their annoyance spam...

i think 100 is to high when does anyone need any more thank 30 emotiosns in 1 reply no matter if it is spam.
Positive
i have used dial up before its increadibily slow and really horrible when downloading images so u can see them.
Negative
But that statement about having the option in ur controll panel to remove Emotions is fair they have dial up so they must live with the no images.
So all the admins really haf't to do is work out what the most Emotions is in a Proper medium sized thread is per reply.
Then a nice round number will appear.

tnx
I haven't seen it myself, but what sort of figure of emots are we talking in the spam temple?
Thousands. And they get edited anyway, no need to make a limit, especially one as ridiculously low as 20....
Honestly Jack 20 is not rediculously low.
Someone has a legitimate concern about the unlimited ability to put emots in to a single thread and you are basically say sod off there's no need for a limit to be put in place. Have some consideration and think of those on dial up. i still personally think that a limit of 100 is even too high. Yes people like to spam in the spam temple but honestly there is spam and there there is too much spam.

That's 101. Your limit is defunct.
hmm... thats odd...
*runs off to check why*
EDIT: limit had reset itself to unlimited, so it wasnt working after all...

Would it be at all possible to put a limit on most of the forum, but leave the Spam Temple without one?
I mean.. that's the point of the spam temple. It's for spam. Users with ridiculously slow connections should honestly have better sense than to go into a part of the forum which has 'spam' written all over it.

No I believe not.
So basically those that have slow internet connection, but also like to spam have to be punished? Lets give a bit of consideration to ALL users for once.

limiting them to the temple would be useless... posts with thousands of smileys only appear in the temple (or are moved there/dumped) when they do appear... and its in the temple they cause a mess... besides, we think that only an installed mod would be able to add section based limits... and you know how hard it is to get them installed...

seems this is a bit delayed... forum software isnt behaving nicely... repair of the issue that prevents change is being attempted...
