I didnt say that all that have better accounts are money spenders. From you post can be seen that you are in defence mode since you feel personally offended when it comes $$ spending topic.
As for me claiming that every one with big account are $$ spenders.
Should i make a list?
btw...how much does it cost to merline those planets per month?

Merlining my planets does take 16 merlins per 2 weeks ... so it costs me exactly 0$
And for the record, I do not feel the need to be in a defensive mode nor do I feel offended. If someone wants to spend a few bucks on their hobby, so be it. I do not mind. Me personally prefer not to buy ressources for $ but to farm my naq.
For those interested: I have spent like $200 in the last 3+ years on SGW ... that would be like 5-6$ per month on average so the equivalent of a Starbucks Cafe Latte.
Surely that 5$ did boost my account so much that you see yourself not able to compete with me

i don't think he necessarily means you are a big "offender" here, im sure there are much worse, but just to let you know, $200 if i spent that right now and bought some naq i would be able to double my ms strength to, easily over 1trill and some...lots more, without the cash it will take me a lot more time, but where's the merit in spending money, where is the fun in that, the journey is most of the time the main part of the fun of almost anything.
Also spending money to get ahead in a game that is free,( i assume most play it without $) it just makes competing with someone who has spent $ not as fun because you know as soon as you have caught up with someone, finally after you spent enough time getting your account good enough, it doesn't matter, another few 100$ is spent and you are where you started.

just to play devils advocate here (for the record, i dont like the idea of buying resources like that) all those who complain about $$$ spending players? without SOMEONE paying for the USS etc we wouldnt be able to play at all. the server, webdomain etc need to be paid for, who pays for it?

you see the main problem is i don't think that many people pay necessarily that, most of the money being used is traded from player to player, (correct me if im wrong)

There are different levels of $ spending
1. buying USS so you can trade
2. buying an account
3. buying AT from the black market when they are none to be had else
4. buying naq/uu for $
5. paying for teamspeak servers, hosting, domains ...
Some see them all as "bad", other just some
For me personally ... who am I to judge how someone decides to play? As long as they enjoy it, it is fine with me.

i guess i agree with you deni. i shouldve been a bit more elaborative with my post. i dont mind the idea of spending $ on the game: as long as you dont use it to an unfair advantage or try to abuse something. time and time again, we've seen people who hassle adminjason about their (legitimate) banning here on the forums for example, and because they remind him of their patronage, it did tend to see them unbanned etc. fortunately i havent seen it in a long while.....
i think you get my point though. use for average gameplay, fine; abuse, not so much.

To the point... I think that in this day and age a lot of people use $$ to fuel their accounts.. and this allows them to perform acts that would normally be far beyond them unless they really worked on their accounts. The money is lending them their station to do the acts that are getting them their names... and I feel it as somewhat false that they get hero worshipped for buying their ways to the tops. It's sorta like using steroids in sports...
As I said.. if I had a brainless enough approach to pour my money into my account.. I could have an amazing account by now.. and my feats in game could well be legendary... however... does that mean that I would truly deserve the right to claim the title of 'great player', 'good player', 'player of the year'... etc etc... I think spending $$ greatly dilutes ones prestige.. but at the same time.. a lot of people are oblivious to it.. and/or disagree.
I hope you don't mind if I respond to this point I am not a large player while my view may seem ridiculous, but I entered this game out of curiousness and I like battle sims. While I am not the best I believe anything you do reflect who you are and what your about I don't really worry about prestige nor do I really worry about legendary status, I work and toil on my little account not wanting to be recognized or to be hailed I now come here for fun, to talk to good people with interesting opinions and various humor. I have never believed in paying for stats or status, I prefer to earn my way, if I get there on my own I can say with what I believe about dignity and honor that I did it of my own work and can say that I can play OK.
I think if a person pays there way its there choice I don't have a right to judge, but they want the attention, I am glad to step out of the way and say "the line light is yours", if it makes them happy who am I to judge. In this world we are not infinite, we are not perfect and if it makes the person happy then that's good to me.

I think it is ridiculous to spend $ on a free game, the playing field has been tipped one sided with these cashed fuelled motherships,
No point attempting to cap these gains these accounts have already got, you will find that the enjoyment of this game is very different from years ago with a much closer playing field, days of building up any sort of stats are gone and what's the point,
there's only so many pocket protector's and steve erkel showbag's you can buy,
for those that have spent real cash on boosting your stat's and mothership's, feel free to poston what you have spent, i'm tipping they won't due to the fact it might sink in on how stupid they are,
I do hearby announce the Gate Wars Erkel Award,
for the biggest jube that has spent the most money on his or her account,
winner get's a pocket protector and coke bottle glasses, prescription of your choice, may the best erkel win.

wow
now tone down guys. you talk about $ spending as it was worse then cheating
It is a personal choice how to play the game, how much $ to spend on it, if to be peaceful statbuilder or ruthless a ME masser or anything you want.
Who are you to judge how other people should play the game?
The arrogance amazes me
