My advice is ignore him as if he is old news (of which he actually is).

I used to be a noob sending messages to the top rank players asking for advice, never got any replies
I eventually got the advice I was looking for when a friend got me to join an alliance

As soon as any of my friends got a rank one, I used to send them ten incoherent messages at once begging for resources. I'm hilarious, I know.
