me and my empire have been here going on 6 years ..so obviously we havent changed our playing style so maybe the people killing this game is the new breed of cry babies who always cry and complain and whine about anything and everything they can find to whine about sounds alot like you surrendermonkey

6 years? :-s

Last i checked the game has been around for 4 years 7 months.

I believe this game has its ups and downs. During certain parts of the year more people play. And since school is in now well most of them are learning for 6-8 hours a day.

of 69000 account around 5000 probably play, even on an irregular basis..

would anohter culling, say cutting accounts with no login over 9months help???

it would raise glory and rep, say if there are 20000 accounts, glory nd rep becomes round 400 ( i think) and THAT would make stats interesting...

Maybe new players need to start with 5 mill army size, 3T naq and and 50k raw UP or SOMETHING to get them a head start into a game where older accounts have all the advantages

[-(

People grow up -have other things to do-, and the children get more spoiled -want more graphical games- with each new birth on the planet.

And then there is the bunch of people who think it's necessary to make threads like this each month or two.. boring. For crying out loud, if you perceive a problem, bring out the fun-guns and make it right. Don't depress people with negative talk.

If it seems stagnant, it's cause new player and younger players are giving up. Prices are sky high! It's hard to build atm.

Very true coyle, as you should know, I advise my members to stay away from the forums and I only bother too post in interesting threads, which is kind of a contradiction seeming as Im posting in this thread =)

But their are good reasons to visit the forumns too, getting information on what is going on, talking about bugs/suggestions, Market trading, See who is warring who, make sure you avoid these high tempered individuals, as it should be well known, someone in a war massing everyday is more likely to mass you if you attack them than some barely active logging in and banking 10 times a day 12agnar0k :P

So long as you make sure you dont insult anyone, dont get into any flamming or spitting contests, and at all times try not to voice any kind of contradictory opinion to anybody else. You should be okay posting, but to be fair, its better just too ignore these forumns in some cases.

Does this mean the game is dying? No I wouldnt say that, Aside from the long term players like myself who have been a constant member of the playerbase, I do seem to notice many new players coming in, and old players returning, theirs quite a lot of active little accounts, as has always been the case, then they either get good and well addicted and join said long term members of the player base or they stop playing or keep playing but at such a low level they can basically just be ignored, (you know the kind of player, ive known a few, who basically have played since the game began, ACTIVELY, but yet only have a ridiclious army, like 500k or a couple mil, some people are a lost cause im afraid. )
But at any rate many more such new players do join, if they end up finding the forumn button, (took me a week or so to notice it I think xD when I first started) It would be nice if they found a friendly supporting atmosphere, not one full of flamming and threats (and more than threats).

But all in all, the game isn't dead yet. Only way it will ever "die" is if the donations cease or get too low to pay for the servers, assuming that is Jason is a money lover, not a SGW lover. He may very well like what he does coding this game into the success it is, and may well continue to do so as well as pay for the servers if donations cease, but hopefully we will never have to find out if people keep spending money on the game, something some people seem to dislike, even though It may well be the only reason you can play this game....

...

The game may die if people keep having predudice against players who spend $ to keep the game alive, predudice will lead to hatred, and hatred to massing, and massing to sitting on, and sitting on to the $ paying players leaving, and when this happens the game will no longer be profitable to run. Which may well lead to it "dying", though tbh, their are plenty of alternatives or copies or their is SGW origins which im not sure if Jason runs or not. Dont think he does, so the "game" will never die, maybe this particular server. Though I would hope not. I myself have actively played (if you call my playing style active... I login everyday which is something :P) Infact ive denied taking vacations because I would have to go on vac mode, in my 4 years of playing I have never taken a vacation mode out the game, till this past week, I have been on holiday and was on vacation mode, world record attempt ended sadly.

As for the forumns, are they dying?, now thats a different question, one which was not asked, and if you want my opinion, it died years ago, and has just been limping along ever since a half dead zombie forumn.

that's nothing new, been that way for years.

I've seen no sign of game or forum dying..there was a similar thread to this a month or so back.

Yes.

The administration is a joke. The game is broken and the general user has the age, behaviour and IQ of an average five year old.

Alas though, same old..same old...we all sit here and mock the game etc.. but the community as a whole refuses to stand up to Jason and remind him of that age old principle.. "The customer is always right". If I get bored enough in the coming week.. I might make a topic calling him out.
