People do realise it. It would kill all those that have thrown in relentless amounts of cash, because they are poor players. It would also kill admin, who is getting a bundle of cash each month because of them. Start again. Ask those that haven't paid a nickel in this game who are also successful player. They would not contest a reset.

It would kill the game, because people who have spent years (cash or no cash, yes there is both) playing this game building their accounts on a server, where no reset is supposed to occur, would leave. I know for one I would be gone...
I have spent cash on the game, not a whole lot, but some...
and tbh, I don't care if I lose that, I care if my account is wiped out because a bunch of whiners are too stubborn to work their accounts up to match the big ones

It's not about 'whiners' working their accounts up. It's about simple fact that the adminstration refuses to have a reset, and yet fails to make the game accessable to new players. It's stupid. It basically now, holds onto those that have been in it for a long time and refuse to leave because they feel that they will lose their time/cash investment.
You can see as well as I can that the gap is getting bigger between the top players and the new starters right?
And edit. You wouldn't be as confident as you are if YOU were the new starter now would you?

Nonsense.. that 'gap' is between new players and continuously different 'big' players.
I have been surpassed by hundreds if not thousands, and have in turn surpassed thousands.
When a new player starts, sure, they might think of everyone above 10m as 'big'. To them, they are, because they don't realise how quickly you can raid yourself past 10m.
For a 10m player, players at 200m are interestingly big. The differences below that aren't as great, because someone with 10m AS and a good CO can have as good an income as someone with 150m AS and a sucky command chain.
In any case, once you look at it, the cap ensures that while a gap remains, the people who are in the top leagues DO lose their stuff. From people like player A (easily 7 times at the cap) to the newbie 10m AS who looks up in wonder is a long, long way. But player A sells his stuff off because the cap is glaring at him, and while his net worth might be 1000x the Newbie's, on occasion the Newbie is as big as A.
Point remains that there's a lot of super-heavy accounts around, but in my experience those accounts are very dynamic. Most of them are in wars and lose boatloads of UU on massing and getting massed.
Ah well. Doesn't strike me as a problem.. but I guess some people want to vent. Pass me that whiskey, Dusty?

u want a reset? look at origins as to why that shouldn't happen. you complain about $$ spenders ruling the game these days. the moment a reset happens, people like me who are unable to pay money into the game, fall into being a mere shadow

I`ve been saying this for a while, it`s top heavy and each new update seems to stack it top heavy even more.
Now some things cant be helped, progression is part of the game and it is reasonable that older players had more time to accumulate more naq to buy say bigger MSs.
But that doesnt mask the fact the gulf is widening, it`s just stating the objective fact that this game is just as subject to "aging" and inevitability of "death" as any other.
Just take ascensions and MSs for example.
MS are at a stage (due to $ or communal project) when the tip is so high that no "normal" gamer can hope to build up to in the probable lifespan SGW has left. A natural conclusion to a lack of another "naq funnel" but accelerated by a certain war heh...
And as far as ascensions go... Unknown will be the standard for a decently active player inside the next 6 months and after taht it`ll snowball and the process will likely get nerfed to allow newbies (or slackers) to catch back up and avoid the what, 16% defecit on stats and a double deficit in ABs. As it stands it would take an account a shade under a year of ascending under ideal circumstances (due to 14 day cooldowns) and you can easily add half a year to that cos there is little way one would be able to maintain that tempo from a standstill.
So one has to be honest and say that SGW is not particulary newcomer friendly, especially if compared to the past. But thats inevitable & short of drastic updates that would rejuvenate it again(periodically) this baby is huffing and puffing into the automn of its life.
But then again... who isn`t?

Its pretty easy to get a good account by alot of hard work, and it does take a while, and you have to have SO much free time its unreal.
Ive noted that , in the past few months, as have others... im sure... that without being able to log in each day, and without haveing any time to do anything when i do log in, its impossible to maintain anything account wise, to make a success of yourself you simply need alot of time. Or a job with a PC connected to the internet
If your thinking of makeing a proper comeback Louis, Give me a call and you can have my account, as long as you treat her nicely.

Of course it's still possible to amass a reasonably sized army and pose a threat to the most established of players. One problem, however, is that we are at a standstill. There are caps, indestructible resources, and some players are getting bored.
These players are making it difficult for newer players to achieve anything. I recently returned to the game and well, I liked the idea of the challenge of not ascending and getting somewhere. Challenges are fun, but of course, free radicals who have nothing better to do (due to being bored from the above-mentioned restrictions) than reducing an account to a mere husk with no provocation are causing damage to newer players' abilities to achieve this, especially if those newer players do not have large alliance affiliations. Anyway, that's what I found out this morning when I got up.
[spoiler]40 mil army gone. o.o And unascended armies die like flies. It's almost inspiring.

I'm thinking now, would it help newer players if unascended accounts had some small advantage over accounts that are ascended to say maybe prophet, like an income or MS bonus as i know any other stat is not practical. i think that may have been thrown up in the past but i forget wat reasons against it was for again
