They clearly didn't. They got banned within 10 minutes of starting. Spamming in an intended spam-free section is not "OK if it's just a bit". We have a spam section, spam goes there.

except, you're not administration, you're moderation, completely different and thus outside your powers.
Greased Gerbil wrote:"General invading into the temple". This concept is confusing. What do you mean by that?
when jedi~tank and GunZ came into the temple of spam to "protest" the "lesbians" thread, they invaded the temple with the specific purpose to shut down at least part of the the temple.
that is an invasion of malicious intent. far worse than what occured here tonight.

no, because the "knee-jerk" reaction was banning, not warning.

As stated previously and said by an admin himself I had administrative backing.
Yes I admit I was the person who pushed for it... but the rules are the rules.

they didn't stop because no warnings were issued it went straight to bans and in some cases IP Bans were placed

No, they got a cool off ban. It probably won't even last a day.

also, i missed the part where the users were notified of the specific reasons for the ban...

1 day ban is still a ban. Just not a serious one.
Biscuit has already stated he would have stopped after 2 warnings. He was waiting for and expecting the warnings as he's been a member of the forums for so long that he knows the rules and how they work.
The concept that worries me is that some 'invading spammers' had plans for how many warnings they would ignore before stopping. This admits a clear disregard for authority.

thats what i meant semp that the spammers got a mild tiny ban rather than a full ban like the other situation they were referencing.
