Yes but pianomutt was..pianomutt

Also true he was a pain in the ass but as far as I remember he didn't make big defenses due to being tauri, as for strike, it was fairly easy to build..True it did cost a lot more units, but the bonus differences weren't as big back then as they're now aswell..

He was in the top ranked 30 players for the majority of the time..... that required a defence of some sort.
Granted this was at a time when I had a 73 bil total MS and it was in the top 100

Its tottally worth it, i can tell that after fighting with highly ascended people. An LG account vs an Unknown or something around there, is simply innefective, the AB's are Mega. Your strike can be bigger than there defence by up to 99%, but the amount of defended attacks you get is obscene. You can Overbuild to overcome the AB's yes, But at brutal cost to yourself!

True but at the time he was on top 30 there also weren't many LG+1s.
In fact, I'm almost positive that the proportion between unascended accounts and LG+1s back then is similar to the proportion between LG+1s and 20+ ascended level accounts...

Volleys/Shields/Fleets and some plat work
Plus keep bank around 80 percent full for the future when the next ascension is released (or might just blow it on a covert level or two and some MS fun)

Everyone feared Piano and everyone respected him. He had loads of people as his officers. He helped all of them and many more. On one hand, he was a ruthless masser who didn't give a
masking what others thought about him, and on the other hand, he was one of those rare players who took time and resources to help others. (having officers was very effective back then)

Actually Bill had a very large defense despite being a Tauri, of course turns were harder to come by back then and massings were not as common, he did get massed though, by Jtest
Personally i don't care if there's a 24 and 25 ascention added, 4% more chance for AB and 2% more stats, not going to be worth the cost for the gain, 23 is enough, game is boring nowadays anyway. Too easy to mass, too easy to recover, turns readily available, 1 account can mass 50 or 100 enemies and not really be affected by the cost/losses involved, especially if they have half decent planets.
The days of requiring teamwork and cooperation are long, long gone. Any monkey with a coin can wedge down the enter key. Don't even know why i bother to play anymore tbh, probably won't for much longer.
