Yeah, Gladiator was probally the all time greatest, but the film is one of the best, ever.

Hector in Troy was pretty good, i always think Eric Banner dies well.

Captain Kirk in Star Trek Generations was a nice farewell.

You guys havent mentioned Butch Cassidy and the sun dance kid?

What about Charlton heston, in the omega man, Speared through the heart by the mindless savages he was trying to save?!

John Travolta in Pulp fiction comeing out the toilet , Look of shock, BANG.

Joe Pesci in Casino AND goodfellas, Both pretty nasty.

And i think the most recent one that pops into my head, has simply got to be ...

Clint Eastwood - Gran Torino.

Although there are a hell of a lot of Hero/Anti hero death scenes that i could mention, i feel we would be here for... a while...

Class, pure class :D

I think Saving Private Ryan deserves a mention, both Tom Hanks on the Bridge firing his pistol at the tank as he slips away, and the guy who slowly had a Knife pushed into his chest in one of the buildings

And if it counts, the Android/Synthetic at the end of Blade Runner, with his little speach as his heart slows to a stop.

The Russian roulette scene in the Deer Hunter made quite an impression on me.

I also liked it when Ian Holm's character, the cyborg, died in Alien. "I can't lie to you about your chances, but you have my sympathies."

Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. Weird, but awesome.

The death of the central character in David Lynch's Elephant Man was haunting. I think I got a lump in my throat the first time I watched it.

Obi Wan's death is awesome indeed, but the Star Wars moment which did it for me was when Vader finally bit the bullet. "I've got to save you." "You already have, Luke, you already have."

Everything about Amadeus is perfect; including Mozart's death scene, with his greatest enemy at his bedside taking down his last words.

And finally, I loved the bit in Battle Royale where the death of that psycho girl was juxtapositioned with Adagio for Strings. I also liked the bit where that girl killed that guy, but as he was dying he explained that he'd come after her to try and protect her because he'd been in love with her for years. Also when that badass guy with the messy hair got blown to smithereens at the end. Hell, that movie was chock-a-block was amazing deaths.

The Assassination of Jesse James - Both the deaths of Jesse James and Robert Ford. The music and mood is just perfect, along with the ending narration.

Day of thte Dead - When the military guy gets ripped in half and is still alive.. is one heck of a death scene.

The Proposition - "You shot me Charlie"

The Thing - All the deaths are over the top lol
