i was ranked 300 odd last night and noticed i could only raid people under the 1k ranks, has the raid system change from 10x's ur rank?, guessing to maybe only 3xs?

I agree that this update may actually do more harm than good in the current setting.

May I suggest that we first address the whole empire idea, where all the alliances in an empire can be led by the alliance of choice, while the alliances stay separate? The empire name can be customizable like the alliance name, and can help to officially show alliance ties to those not as up-to-date with the workings of alliances and the like in-game.

Empires can be created with the use of the alliance banks, which can also be used to pay for Empire name changes, Empire/alliance hierarchy changes, and so forth (appearance-related empire/alliance features).

Now to address the bonuses situation. Here's how I see it:
- Currently, you have a fixed bonus setup
- The alliance houses can be easily taken over to benefit only those of which are the most powerful and most numerous
- Many players have shown a major... 'distaste' of the current system.

What I suggest that should be done is as follows:
- Rather than have a fixed bonus system, have a variable bonus system, depending on the empire's current situation
- This will be applied to all empires currently created via what I said above
- The system works by analyzing the total attack, defense, covert, anti-covert, and other powers you may want to take into account, compares the values in percentages with the total empire power, then applies bonuses as necessary.
- For example, if an empire is relying heavily on defense and lacks attack strength, the coding will recognize this from the power percentages and applies a bonus increase to attack. The same goes for the other way around, where if an empire has a more than powerful total attack strength, yet a relatively weak defense, then the bonus will adjust to apply a bonus increase to defense rather than attack.
- A suggested maximum for each bonus is around +5% Attack, +10-15% Defense, +10% Covert/Anti-Covert, and +10-20% Income/UP. This can be edited as required.
- These suggested maximums are only to provide a limit to the actual bonus to be applied to an empire. The variable bonus system will ensure that only a set percentage of bonuses can be applied at any one time, although (if you wish) you may be able to use the alliance bank to 'influence' the variable bonus to apply more often to what you want rather than something you don't want. Of course, this does not force the whole bonus to the desired attribute, although it will cause the system to have a more likely possibility of providing a bonus there than others.
- This way, players, alliances and empires will be 'forced' in a sense to adopt a slightly different style of running their accounts. This adaptation may only be slight, but could mean the difference quite a few people may be looking for.
- There was something else I have thought about... the variable bonus system can (if it can be coded) be programed to take the differences in alliance/empire power and size throughout the whole Gate Wars Universe into account, and apply a slightly boosted bonus to those less fortunate, while slightly decreasing the bonus provided for those who are already more powerful and numerous than anyone else. This can address the problem of overpowering someone who is already overpowered with additional bonuses, as well as provide a fighting chance to those less fortunate.

Take with that what you will, but that's what I would like to see... maybe even introducing a council-like system within the empires so as to prevent only one person to have "all the power" could address a wealth of problems...

Edit: I forgot to address the "1 AT" massing problem some people have mentioned. What I suggest is that if a certain one person/alliance/empire decides to target another person/alliance/empire with the "1 AT" massings currently dominant in Gate Wars play, another system comes into effect. This system will measure the type of attacks dealt, the number of ATs used during each attack, the regularity of attacks, and who is actually attacking. If the system detects a player/alliance/empire submitting another player/alliance/empire with the "1 AT" massing treatment, then it will automatically kick in to increase the "fatigue" of the attacking armies, while increasing the "alertness" of the defending armies. In other words, the effective attack strength of the massing armies will drop and take more damage, while the effective defense strength of the defending armies will increase and receive less damage, as well as decreasing the overall resources stolen by the opposing armies. Overtime, the "fatigue" and "alertness" will drop automatically, before returning to original levels. This system can be used for a multitude of things, but that's one of the basic features. I'll build on this idea later.

Houses are a good idea IF more can be created.

If those 4 are all ther is, the existing empires/alliances of top x% of SGW players will adopt them as their ingame incorporation and easily monopolize the 10% bonus by simply kicking everyone else out. Cos if you look at the top 10 alliance rank spot, 5 of them are "sister alliances".

GL ever getting anyone but one of them to the top spot of the chaos house (cos realistically speaking the attack bonus is the only one worth while).


I mean its a nice thought and all but it seems about 3 years to late, more even. Would have been a nice feature for race wars with a more level playing field but nowadays the SGW "landscape" will just cause this to become one big headache that gives more to those allready in the best position. Like the MS technologies.


I would suggest that these houses become ingame formalization of "sister alliances", it has been a feature of the landscape for years now, why not throw it a bone ingame. Give everyone an opportunity to create their "house" ingame, instead of just on the forums. Give each house the option to purchase their prefered upgrades to custome tailor them.

If you`re intent on keeping it to 4 predetermined however, recognise that they`ll be "claimed" by the top brass the day they come out, and reduce the bonus by the factor of 10 heh.

I noticed a minor bug I mentionned in another thread, red ascended titles seem to be limited in characters and long titles are cut in the middle.

I agree with Brdavs and what some others said about the Houses..

reading through the updates ting, it seems that an alliance cannot be kicked from a house, simply by changing their vote every 5 days. though this means they can then not get the bonus, they can keep building till they gain enough power to lead by themselves, then they can lead, unchallenged?

CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, please

Its been mentioned 100 times on the forums before, people who have no chance in hell of beating a def, will attack you 100-200 times with 1 AT they take no losses or very little losses, but do damage to you slowly, they are also able to mass away your mothership this way, when someone who has an army size less than 30% of mine but can attack me 100 x with 1 AT and take no losses, where if they had to use 15 they would be destroyed, its unbalanced.

Any update you put into place that gives a boost to stats will hurt this game more than its currently hurting, no one will use the other houses other than the +10% attack, and even then it will be a massive power struggle, watch for alliances popping up now with 300 members just so they can control the house, your heading for a headache you dont want, you should have make the updates purely cosmetic and left it at that.

There are even more than that, but basically he can use his 1AT's and lose nothing, when the mothership is massed he can up it to 3 or 5 AT's still lose nothing then when the defense is over 50% down he can swap to 15 to finish it and win.

And using the above method, not only can they do that, but if they get hit by an ascended blessing and take devastating damage there MOTHERSHIP does not get affected, it is still able to do full damage, you should make it, if someone is attacking and they receive devastating damage they instantly lose 10% of there attacking force and 20% of there mothership, that might make things a little more balanced.

Its things like this you need to fix to sort the game out before introducing more updates that will add to these exploits.

As it stands DEFENSE is completely worthless in the game.

Its been mentioned 100 times on the forums before, people who have no chance in hell of beating a def, will attack you 100-200 times with 1 AT they take no losses or very little losses, but do damage to you slowly, they are also able to mass away your mothership this way, when someone who has an army size less than 30% of mine but can attack me 100 x with 1 AT and take no losses, where if they had to use 15 they would be destroyed, its unbalanced.

Any update you put into place that gives a boost to stats will hurt this game more than its currently hurting, no one will use the other houses other than the +10% attack, and even then it will be a massive power struggle, watch for alliances popping up now with 300 members just so they can control the house, your heading for a headache you dont want, you should have make the updates purely cosmetic and left it at that.

Massing with 1AT has been used for years, before planets and motherships got introduced, and it's always been longer than 15ATs massings. Admin fixes on every update time the minima to hit a defense. This is fine and not needed to reform the 1ATs thing. As despite what you say in your post branding it as ultimate way to mass...shall I remind you that massing with 1ATs does much less damages to weapons you hit than 15ATs, and makes massing someone with 1ATs very long, especially if enemy is on nox+crit?

Not everybody uses the "feature" of strike/defense planets glitches to be able to mass with 15ATs.
The people using strike planets will mass with 15ATs for almost no losses indeed, however someone who doesn't and faces one who uses that "feature" on defense, well...no need to tell what's going to be outcome. Masser will lose ALOT, massed will lose...not much.
Unless planets are deeply changed, doing what you preach, would be the last bullet to make this game totally useless to play.

There are even more than that, but basically he can use his 1AT's and lose nothing, when the mothership is massed he can up it to 3 or 5 AT's still lose nothing then when the defense is over 50% down he can swap to 15 to finish it and win.

And using the above method, not only can they do that, but if they get hit by an ascended blessing and take devastating damage there MOTHERSHIP does not get affected, it is still able to do full damage, you should make it, if someone is attacking and they receive devastating damage they instantly lose 10% of there attacking force and 20% of there mothership, that might make things a little more balanced.

Its things like this you need to fix to sort the game out before introducing more updates that will add to these exploits.

As it stands DEFENSE is completely worthless in the game.

Also try to actually fix the numorous Bugs that have been reported over the YEARS that you continue to let go.

Your attempt to stop "planet stealing multi's" is weak at best TBH. Stop using bandaides and actually fix something. If you are not willing to invest the time to refund cheated players then do something to stop it from happening. You have been given multiple suggestions. All, or atleast most cripple a brand new unascended account but lets be honest. They got no business stealing planets and abandoning them to begin with.

As for the "house" idea, I still dont understand what was so wrong with the suggestions put forth by the players over 1 and 1/2 yrs ago?!?!?!?!?

It was much closer to what many are saying now. Allow sister alliances to become empires and let them choose their own bonuses. This gives everyone the same chance and doesnt allow the abuse/exploit of 1 "empire" with many sisters controling a house.

Get it through your head the only bonus that matters is ATT, as def is a liability and therefore useless. A 10% def bonus = 10% but a 10% att bonus = almost 30%. Since spies die FOR FREE after the useless defense falls it too is completely useless.

Fix the PPT bug

Another point on the 1AT massing is that it breaks weapons before the nox ever kicks in so what is the point of nox if you also give a way around it?

OMG lol the limited NAQ per 15 AT's army size thing isn't an Update its jsut to stop people from taking all the NAQ in the 1st day.

The biggest problem is loosing units, especially when over the buying cap. You have to raid or wait for UP, whereas replacing weapons can be done easily by farming, or finding a few people whom missed PPT

That most people that do that, even with Quantum/Chaos/Ascended KNOW they suck there, and so need to threaten you with other servers. What i want to know is what they would do, when you inform them you've put yourself on vacation on main

Well about 1at massings and defences being a liability... If I may put a counterargument...

We have to face facts that inflation & time allready did a number on this game. You have active accounts ranging from 5-50-500mil units. You`re not balancing this puppy to the general satisfaction ever again.

Now it`s arguably still better to have defence a liability and massing cheap than making defences practically unassailable. 500-300mil guys will put up 100mil units into a def and coupled with blessings its basically gonna be game over unless you REALLY tick someone off to the point he`s gonna tackle that for the same losses. & if you thought ascended was bad when everyone half active got treaties (cos the alternative was just too costly) just you wait heh.

I mean awsome in the short term for those of us that are a tad bigger and have "sniper poblems", but in the grand picture... not so sure.



Admin should tackle inflation imo and adding % on % bonuses with new features and ascensions and tech is counterproductive. You`d do a gr8 job if you toned down planets and got rid of MS techs for instance.
Ofc. defs arent worth anything if there are acounts geared up for the task of massing better than say blahh ever was, multi tril MSs & a tril or so added from planets. You cant just focus on 1at hits, thats just one aspect that ticks of one segment of the population heh.
