Give some time for responses.

You get g&r points in certain parts of the ranks. let me explain:

1 g&r generation begins at rank 1,484
5 g&r generation begins at rank 148

You automatically start generating g&r at turn change once you reach those ranks. And you continue to get the g&r every turn change until you drop out of those ranks.

You have to reach 1,001 g&r points in order to ascend.
At 1 g&r points it takes 3 weeks to gain 1,001 g&r points assuming you remain in those ranks for the duration.

Once you reach 1,001 g&r points the ascend icon will appear on your front page below your stats. Clicking this image when it appears will show you the resource requirements to ascend. Once you have those requirements you can ascend.

you get G&R points when you are in the top 2% of ranked players. its about rank 1450 (this will gain you 1 G&R/turn). to get more, you need to be in top .2% of players, or top (about) 145 (5/turn). rank 1 gives you 10/turn
you can ascend once you have reached 1001 G&R points
a new icon appears on your base screen underneath your stats, it looks a little bit like a bug or an alien
