I thought you were a mediator in the case of disagreements? Rewriting rules seems a bit.. further along. Oh well, I suppose I misinterpreted you and thought you meant you had more than your advisory capacity.

I have presented nothing yet as im letting people post what they have to say first.
And uni you should know i can make a decent argument out of anything by now . Demands for mod removal may be over the top, but many good points have been raised so far.

I dont know if I really have the right to post here, but I am gonna put forward a neutral argument.
The name Of the alliance in question does not offend me at all. Infact I believe its silly banning such words, the alliance name has not been used to mis call anyone, in fact by using it they where sort of belittlleing themselves, so it is meant as a joke of sorts, Although on the other side of the coin, I believe the topic that was started about the alliance name and just checking that it was allowed was silly and brought unwanted attention you you alliance name, and ultimatly resulted in your alliance name being banned.
Therefor my personal opinion here is, what you are asking for by a mod being removed is unreasonable as you have brought most if not all of this on yourselves, although I think it would be a fair settlment in having the word reinstated provided it doesnt start to be used to belittle others.
Because there are lots of other word out there which are still valid which i believe are much worse, and have not been filtered.

You indeed must have assumed it was my conclusion where as it was merely musing.
Also again you misread me, the request for mod revoval is over the top. However, other good points about the name have been raised.
Not about the mods removal.

Using the urban dictionary is a whole lot worse than using wikipedia. In any good academic society you will be discredited at best and at worst failed for using wikipedia.
Where did the urban dictionary get this definition from? From watching Sealab 2021 i would assume. I have taken the time to watch some clips for the episode and i am inclined to disagree with their assesment of it as very offensive. Also as i have argued previously, other entries in the urban dictionary agree with my assesment that it is just another word for moron or idiot etc. I provided a copy of that entry in another thread.

correct. it is not very offensive word, but then, it was added to the filter, rather than made warnable for use... would you have preferred to get a warning each time it is used instead?

Wouldnt a warning only be issued if it was used in an offensive way. The word in itself isnt offensive. Only if you aimed/directed it at someone.

Yeah, I'm still not seeing why it was decided that the word was so horribly offensive, that it needed to be filtered.

kojax the topic asking about the name was started after some of us stated getting warnings for using the word.. we believe such warnings were silly an wanted to contest the warnings..
