Your assertion that people have discredited the link between fear and violence I have found to not have any basis in actual reality.

I recently read an interested paper on the threads subject. Where the author postulated that fear is an inherently good emotion when applied to immediate dangers to ones life. But When those same instincts are applied to symbols and systems of meaning it begets what we would identity as the "evils" in the world.

what IS an enemy if not someone you fear (or hate, but as we already know, hate is just a sublimation of fear)?

Hate is actually a learned response to fear... we are not born with that quality. I beleive it needs to be taught.

But if you keep agreeing with me were going to end up to comming to some kind of understanding.
