Admin gary disagrees....
Admin Gary can kiss my ass. While we're at it, Jason, Deni, Earendil, Zeratul and Bazsy can all kiss my ass too. Although, I think I'll take my kiss from Deni on the lips.
Either way, the discussion on the admins and Deni ceases right here, right now. This topic is for discussing a warning given for a post in a war thread, as far as I can see there is no issue of bias. Just an overzealous mod, but that's not an HR problem.
As for whether the warning was issued before or after the verbal to stop talking about the update, well let's establish that the verbal was necessitated first. As far as I am concerned, whining in a war thread about an update that came to existence because the other guys whined about the need for said update is quite valid. However, if the whining/discussion about the update took over the topic and it was completely derailed and no longer about the war, then there might be cause to issue such a verbal. I'll have to look over the thread, though probably not tonight. I have a long day ahead tomorrow and I need to focus on other, more important things. My opinion hasn't changed, but there's a possibility that it might.

Aye aye, Sir.
Your section - your rules.

Not responding to this topic besides this. See Deni's quoted post for reason.

ben should have the right to plea his case whether he's a mod or not.
And for the record, why can't we just have neutral mods/admins modding the topic??
makes life much easier.

The ombudsman should ensure an easier communication with the admins/moderators by acting as an intermediary especially when the forum users feel/think that the direct communication with the admins is not possible for some reason.
Forum moderators are not regular forum users though. As you know, there is a private moderator forum, where mods can voice their complaints and try to resolve the issues in a constructive manner with help from the admins if needed.
Considering that BenjaminMS did not even make the slightest attempt to contact the mod he is complaining about nor the administration, the only logical conclusion is, that he is not interested in working the issues out, but made his post just for publicity reasons.

Funny how Eärendil didn't use that same private forum in a constructive manner to make his concerns known about BenjaminMS post...

I am confused.
Can you please elaborate what Earendil was supposed to do and how you think he is involved in the issue?
Because as far as I am concerned, the complaint was about a warning that BenjaminMS was given. Or am I wrong here?

Section 4: Spam
b. Replies
Replies will be considered spam if they do not contribute to the discussion of the topic. This may include off topic posting or an excessive number of posts that contain nothing more than emoticons or small words such as ‘lol’. While it is appropriate to indicate something is amusing, drowning out a whole thread with such posts makes it hard to follow for all users.
Consequence:
A polite note from a moderator will be issued requesting the user cut down the amount of irrelevant posts. Repeat offenders will be given one warning point.
However, my whole post was the following:
't was fun for me, till the moment my bank started running empty, Mh cried to Jason for an idiot update (granted, unlimited repairs was too much, but just 1x turn?) and Feri bought his entire account again for the 3-4x time in a week or so
So... something isn't right here

More funny part is also that in said topic ONLY TL-members got warned. Bias much?
Back to the source issue
And Bias aside....
He got warned for that - dear god...it was an issue/point of view brought forth in a war thread concerning stragety and the relevent updates applied to war stragety being used by both sides - I fail to see the irrelevence in those words here and to the lay man forum user that I am - I am dumbfounded and suprised that a warning was issued with something quoted that had:
- Quote used in warning was shown in no real context to the post or topic - and as you can see the sentence was taken out of context but if you include the previous words you will see the relevence to the post and the thread
- And the fact that it was tied into the war stragety and the relevent update being used in such a stragety in the TL mH war to make it relevent...

You're right, I get confused with the E-boys at times, Empy then, why didn't he use that special mod/admin forum to bring the issue BenjaminMS's attention as opposed to issuing a warning to a moderator?

Moderators are not immune to warnings - on the contrary - having a moderator post despite a public warning from a GM and an admin makes the offense even bigger as they cannot claim ignorance.
As I see that BenjaminMS was not the only one user warned for the same offense, I am rather confused and baffled how you suggest that the one should get a slap on the wrist because of a blue color he is wearing, while the other - a regular forum user - would be given an official warning.
Do you think that would be fair?

Ok just a couple questions then.
deni wrote:Interesting to see a mod complaining to the ombudsman instead of going the proper way and ask the section GM or the administrators about a clarification.
More interesting to see a mod accusing his fellow mods of bias.
You expect him to come to your special mod/admin only section, yet you see no reason one should go to him privately in said special mod/admin section before issuing this warning?
deni wrote:Further, I still miss the pm or a post where you have come to us trying to talk about the supposed biased Global Mods. But I guess all of this is not because you want to help the team better itself but because of the 5 mins of fame you will get.
I will talk to the other admins, but as far as I go - consider your fired.
I do not care if a mod makes mistakes. We all have been wrong and we have tried to better us. What I cannot stand is a supposed team member badmouthing the team.
Again, you don't care if a mod makes mistakeS(refering to who issued the warning?). Yet you consider this grounds for firing Benjamin outright? Am I missing something here?

WTH did I say? I said no talking about anything that is not why he should be warned for his post in that section or why he shouldn't. Anything else will get you warned, last chance.

Users: If you want to complain about something that isn't explicitly about the warning being issued for the quoted post, make another thread.
Mods: Take it to the mod section.
I HAVE THE POWER! The power to warn, and I will **Filtered** use it too.

Q: Is the named warning already removed, or is it still there?
Edit: Just looked in the UCP, and no it isn't removed yet

It was decided that your warning stays.
