I didn't mean to lash out, that was not my intentions, just didn't want to talk about the bible in this topic lol... but I guess I should be more open and I'm sorry Lith, because you are telling me your theory and I did act like I was lashing out myself so I am sorry Lith... please keep the theories coming I love them!

bible is one of the oldest record in the history im sure there a lot there to be connected wit our roots , it depends how do u read it.

I believe the theory says that when all ( or most ) the matter and energy of the universe is gathered in one place it reaches a critical mass and explodes in a 'Big Bang' event, everything expands in every direction and slowly gravitational attraction causes the debris from this explosion to begin coalescing, forming stars, planets etc, these astral bodies are also drawn together forming Black Holes, and that eventually that black holes will swallow up everything and merge together gathering all the matter and energy together for the next Big Bang, and the next cycle of expansion and contraction.

This does not mean that the details of every planet formation, or species evolving would happen in every cylce.

Also this is an old theory which does not take the unknown effects of Dark Matter into consideration. And even if the theory is correct because it relies on each cycle being destroyed to from the next it is fundamentally unprovable that any previous cycles existed.

Maybe the universe will expand forever, the momentum too strong and distance to great for any gravitation force to pull back.

Maybe if the universe does contract, the supermass it forms will be stable next time and not explode.

Who the hell knows

Umm NO actually it's not, there are many older writings carved in stone and unchanged since being written, whereas the Bible has been translated and edited so many times it probably bares little relation to the original, and the Bible is not a record of anything, it's a collection of short stories and morality tales.

Must be nice though, to believe the answer to every question is simply 'God did it' and not have to think, after all they say Ignorance is bliss

Rubber band theory is only one theory in a million theories in how the universe could exist their are many other theories about the universe. Its a theory with no real concrete evidence or supportive research on it. None of them do as of yet we cannot go out into the stars that far to state its as a fact. Yes we have telescopes that see so far out we can surmise what is going on. Here is a fact the universe is so big and complex they are always finding new things that redefine their "laws" and they always will. From what I remember about rubber band theory its based on little evidence and a lot of maths same as string theory, this doesn't make it fact.

Hence the THEORY part of the name, if it was certain and proven it would be called FACT

There are a number of theories of how exactly the Universe will end up. I guess the only solution is to be there at the very end ;)

Mr. Nobody was a rather entertaining movie about this subject (not really tho but it semi-covers one of the possible endings of the galaxy "The Big Rip") google it if you'd like.
Well my opinion about the subject is: I don't care.
I won't be here when it happens so what does it matter?

no offense to anyone but i doubt that any of us will be there when the world ends but the government wants us to think they have stuff figured out however they only know that people are born they live sd\ome work some dont and everyone dies eventually But whatever happens to me in this life is nothing compared to the blessings i will get in the next

exactly but fact is 100% science only works on a 99.99% probability so nothing is an actual fact in science only a heavily supported theory.

Roket your premise is actually wrong.

New discoveries in Particle physics have shown the universe expansion is actually continually speeding up with no signs of stopping. This expansion is due to what scientists are calling "dark energy"( nomenclature for I have no **Filtered** idea what the **Filtered** this is)

The universe might never collapse back in but continue to spread itself out infinitely.

You can read up on it here

Mezz easy mate, Lith I am jealous of your blind fate mate lol

Lone... your debate isn't really a debate... your kind of just saying theories are theories but on that fact, you don't exist so let it go because there is no way in hell I'm going to discuss Quantum on here lol

Thriler- Thank you mate, I have no college or anyone to help me so the research I do on this subject is very limited so if you have other sources I know Zeek suggested I watch, Stephen Hawkings Documentary which I am currently trying to get ahold of it lol....

and after reading that article I have a few questions and thriller you might be able to help you seem like your above me in knowledge... and I'll probably be going on here and changing them while I Read but I figured type my imediate questions to not have to look them up if someone knows them lol,

Dark matter I've heard of it, is it what "essecially" makes up a black hole, or do they believe that?

Could it "Essentially" destroy the Energy itself... being as strong as it is...

this Dark Matter, could it not be used as a unlimited power source?

Is it still a Thoery, or is it proven to exist, if it exists, why have we not harnessed the power, from what I've read, that is the ultimate weapon and tool, why have we not tried to gather it up?

or have we and failed?

just a few questions again I'll probably be editing them out while I answer them, but it's hard to find answers online, when your just starting out

You want me to teach you about dark matter.

How in depth do you want to get here?

dark matter is matter that we currently cannot interact with.

Scientist believe the proof of this concept can be found from the fact that current amount of observable matter within our galaxy does not exert enough gravity to maintain the galaxy's form. (particles naturally like to separate away from each other but the force of gravity can overcome the repulsion to such an extent as to fuse atomic particles together; this is why planets, stars, galaxy's exist) SO.....To account for the amount gravity within our galaxy their must be a form of matter that we cannot detect. Since the only thing we know that exerts a gravitational force is matter' we call this stuff we can't see but believe exists because we can observe it's gravity; dark matter.

This is a very young theory and a lot of research needs to be done to develop this concept further. I also gave you a very simple outline....

It's really not that hard to read up on this stuff if your interested, you lazy good for nothing.... etc...

Here is a video of Neil talking about it
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics/dark-matter.html

Black holes are not "made" of dark matter. They are just areas of space where a immensely strong gravitational force exists. (simple definition)

I strongly recommend you to read "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking or if you do not know much about physics maybe "A Briefer History of Time". I've read the former a few months ago, it was really interestening and big parts of it basicly are about this topic here :)

lol damn you calling me lazy xD, I'm very glad you know this you shoudl contact me on MSN, and Reschef you aswell if you know this, I'm very interested and would love to discuss :)

I promise to keep the theories coming and to keep you on your toes thriller who knows I might pass ya, looking for a challenge add me :)
