Are you role-playing as an Asgard though? They would really only fight in self defense, unless that's what you have been doing, and pretty well I might add.

But one might also point out, they might also fight to help those that can't defend themselfs, but in the end they are good guys.

And also - there are cases of 'evil asgard' in the SG series, both SG-1 and SG-A

This game was at it best when role-playing was the biggest part of it, we had battles between races and lots of great forum fights between members of different races, and all in good fun.

Depsite what people say, this game needs all types of players. Not just peace offering nice players but also the powerhungry warmongers.

The game needs the types of players, which is why the game needs good players, not just people interested in looking good.

Since we're having a crisis in this game, I'll take any form of players with stats that can then be removed

Jason was threatened with legal action from MGM or some **Filtered**, if he didn't change the names.

i thought the only thing he was made to change was the name to gatewars.

Role play is good but role play itself should not be used as an excuse to be a poor player ingame.

I'm suprised Jason didn't just make up 4 new races, that had similar names to the SG ones. NanoTiMaster for example has nothing to do with SG, and Ancient is just a word he could have used "The Ancient Ones" and MGM couldn't say a word. Just remove Tauri, Goa'uld etc and use Terrans or Humans.

Like has been stated many times, many players from '05-'07 play because of SG, and many even after that - you know, for the role-play of their favorite race/character in SG

Take a look around folks. We have a GOOD role play.. it just lacks.. spark, greater depth and creativity. On one side we have the evil empire that's had a stranglehold on the galaxy for most of recorded history since the fall of the ancient generation and their passing into ghostly form and legend such as that I now inhabit.

On the other side we have had a continuing series of rebellions, 'heroes' and powers who are even worse than that which we've so naturally opposed. We've seen the benevolent fall, old guns going quiet.. we've seen the galaxy change and go from perpetual war to peace and back many times... and now it's the end of times or so it would seem.

Each of us and you have played parts in this six year space opera as you played roles..both of warrior and politician, hero and villain long after the blue prints of Stargate began to fade away forever. By being here.. in this fictional games universe you're role playing.

You just need to get that spark back, that political edge.

The game needs peaceful players, semi-fighters, and aggressive players to function.
It is the degree and extent that all three types are played to that are the true problem xD

As for RP, I think generally laziness is the major factor in its demise. Along side the lack of enthusiasm as well...

The forum RPs last a few weeks or months and then just kinda stop.
The forum RP related to ingame stuff gets sidetracked and usually stalls out after its initial spark

If enough of us would ignite something long lasting on both fronts, I would hope enough people would jump in to keep it going a while.

to many strong allied and to few middle and to many weak.........

so race war = unfair..........

Then do something about it. as SS, he wants something organised. So if people organise something, surely people would make a fair attempt at it being fair.

Game needs more hero's

Everyone wants to be the RAWR RAWR im so evil cliche.

Needs more able, and by able i mean top accounts and skills, hero's. People who can play the role in game & out.

Any that have come and good invariably end up getting to a certain point of ability/account standard they turn into the RAWR RAWR handlbar mustache evil types.
