The army have been deployed to queensland to help out and special services and fire services also.

unfortunately there isnt much more the govt can do while the water is still there
once the water levels recede there will be a huge cleanup to do, and people's houses and businesses will need to be rebuilt, not to mention roads, powerlines, pipelines, etc

I know how you feel mate! In last May-June, we experienced the most disastrous flood that had ever disgraced Hungary. Although my place was safe, me and some friends decided to volunteer and help out the countrymen in peril... Those sightings of flooded and destroyed homes and fleeing people were... character shaping, I would say.

I'm with you, Odin, and with all the people affected by this terrible flood!

which suburb are u in mate?
The local rivers around my suburb went down over night so we will be okay if no more rain hits and the water from up north and the dam water slows down.

from what I've seen on the News the Queensland Gov is doing a great job, especially considering the amount of area effected...

lots of touching stories, like the 13yr old boy sacrificed his life so his brother could be saved... the family were trapped in a car. RIP

I'm glad to see you're safe and your house has survived Odin.

I am so glad I didn't move up to QLD and Steven moved down here.

I had a look at your catchments, and they are all 100% full and about to burst! That sort of water is just insane.

I don't think people can really fathom the enormity of this tragic force of nature. This will cripple QLD for quite some time.
