It was always the first strike, if you were going in against an alliance stronger than you, this was absolutely critical.

EoB had wars against Alpha, TL, TO, mH, DDE....we were tiny in comparison but back in the day we could punch above our weight

It was so efficent, one big strike, couple of med strikes...many small strikes, ACers, MS massers and blockers...

Yeah, I do miss that, the mechanics aren't so requiring anymore - you can create a war machine and if you are quick enough, you can do it all yourself xD

No, no and one more time no.
AActual updates, alliance PPT and allaince repairs are the main reason. You can call 100 massers, create a perfect working team and start massing. Than ONE playerfrom the oposite side comes online, has the power to use alaince bank skills and repair whole alaince. Pus mobile phones, msgs, calls... rotations of leaders, organization... and the team of 100 well organized massers can only wait till allaince PPT ends, than they can whipe own strikes onb pernamently repaired defences. So basicly 1 player can defend hole alliance against 100 massers.

Sabbing kills defence in secret, than |ACers can clean spyes and supers. Am not telling this is the way how I lik it, but its effective and mostly succesfull.

I miss the massing parties of DoC...

That's the only way I mass. Most cost efficent and militarily effective way. Recon your targets and know their statsand planets. Get two massers, a MS masser, am ACer, and if needed someone to sab those big defs down. Have people or everyone lined up to jack planets (possibly sell the locations the day of for a quick extra buck) and mass down all planet defs down to under 50 bil before you start taking them. That way by the time they login they can't hit back immediately or not even at all if you demoralize them enough.
