Yes, it is a disadvantage. But if there is no other way to de-ascend your opponent, what else are you going to do.
Also, limit it to once every 2 hours is it now (like a normal attack)
And I'm pretty sure 10 accounts, all created from the same IP, ascended once, suicide attacking, and then never playing again would be a pretty obvious cheating.
PS: Just did some checking, if you have a MNEC of 900, then they would need to create like 10 accounts with Lv~350 each in order to take you down. And that would take 20 hours minimum

25 hours....it's 2.5 between ascended attacks atm.

Nothing, whats wrong with it now? its what happens when your descended.
I would be surprised if 50% of everyone that has played sgw has not heard of a proxy, unlike WOW using a proxy you wont notice the lag in sgw, therefore its majorly practical, using 10 accounts on different IPs? How easy can that be? lol, theres 1000's of proxies out there, and training on the ascended server is easy, once you get the first few bill planets you grow rapidly. Doing it 10 times you will tend to find out easy paths. Having someone to help you will make you grow extremely fast, in a farming run i have taken people from straight 100 personals to 600. It wouldnt be that hard. Thats just for one person, if its an alliance war then 4 players with 3 accounts each...
Im not saying it would happen im just saying its highly abusable.
The main point of this topic was about an idea relating to the affects of descension, i think its a decent idea, sending someone to perg.

People out there can't be de-ascended. So it means the weaker players will get shoved into perg by the strong, and they strong have nothing to fear.

1) If people need to cheat to get ahead, then there going to cheat anyway. Far more worth wild making multies to steal planets, then it is to generate ascended accounts to de-ascend with
2) It will take time to do the ascending. If you give the resources to get there, they need to either get into the 5G&R range, or wait 20 days before ascending. Assume 5G&R and the cost that entails. So that's 4 days to ascend. Then another 3 days to build up size to be able to hit the main account for DMU to build. So that's a week where all you've been doing, is supplying your multies to attack with. All that, when you could just get a few alliance mates to sacrifice the ascended blessing to take them down, and give them the resouces on main, instead of the multies

Its been like that for ages, quite a significant amount of people can be descended, and those that cant, well get a bigger TOC.
Its the reason why perg is there, apart from the 16+ ascensions they have to go through anyway which needs to be lowered, and the 36 covert lvl they need to buy to stay afloat in wars anyway. Apart from that growing in ascended to become undescendable isnt that hard, you only have to log in a few times a day

2) the only have to ascend once, resources are very little. 5 GnR is not needed. They can be re-used again and again, and it doesnt have to occur only when war is upon them, they could do it as soon as the update came out.

Then there is little point inflicting massive penalties if there are those that can not be. Just means the weak are weaker, and the strong, stronger.

You've kinda gone completely off topic.......
You've also put the "undescendable" title up on a pedestal....it's really is not that difficult to build a decent ascended account, and is actually easy to defend yourself if you are active!
When people first decide that want to have the ascended bonus and ascend, then having another account there is the consequence...if that don't like it, then they can become daimons.
Pergatory by it's very name, is ideally setup for someone being descended....the trouble now, is people don't care about being descended anymore, because they'll just wait it out and get their bonus back after 2 weeks. At least this way they are also hindered from helping their friends...making the whole thing more of a team effort

The idea has a lot of merit, specially in wars, id like to see more evolution to the idea, for example upon deascension they are sent to perg locked there for 2 weeks, all ATs either disappear or transfer to personal ATs, and are subject to all effects of both current perg and deascension effects, after the 2 weeks are over they are automatically sent back to normal. There shouldn't be any effect to the army size, the current army size cap should be for accounts wishing to hide in perg. The one problem I see with coding is the automatic removal of perg based on army size, perhaps if the person is deascended they cannot get automaticly removed, untill the 2 weeks is over.
Edit - was thinking this over more and thought maybe a loss of 1 or 2% of lifers due to lack of faith, and/or a loss of all mercs causing empire/alliances with a perg based affiliates work together to slam the person hard (not sure about the mercs part, just was a thought). Also possibly change the ATs part to 50% vanish and 50% become personal.

If you change the idea to "For as long as you are de-ascended you are stuck in perg" then I can accept this argument. Otherwise, they'll just wait the 24 hours and leave. Hardly a punishment, and in fact a benefit as no one in main would be able to take advantage of your de-ascended state till you left

Looking at Iƒrit's idea, I think that's workable. All you'd need to do is put a double check in instead.
