It usually does. And then it comes back. Democracy is like a bad disease.

I would rather say like a Phoenix. 8)

Phoenixes, cockroaches, poison ivy.. it all serves the same metaphor.

As far as I know, Phoenix is a noble legendary creature who revives out of their ashes. I don't think cockroach is of the same reputation, or same prestige. Well, I will have to check but they are more likely the utter opposite of Phoenixes. The first being used more positively, and the latter, obviously negatively..

Don't tell me. Let me guess. You are a democrat. :P Or wait, invasions were a good idea, right? Hm, Republican? Or just vague and undefined? :P

I understood, they all are the same metaphor, but one is positive metaphor version (Phoenix), while the others are the negative versions of the same metaphor. I wouldn't say the negative metaphor for something I am in favor of, and I wouldn't say a positive metaphor for something I am against.
At least, I personally wouldn't, don't know for other people...

Just LOOOOOVE the way Obama Plays Golf, Records his NCAA picks, prioritize a speech about womens history month, has a get-together at the White House about bullying and has a meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks while our economies crumble, jobs are off-shored, unemployment rises, the banksters run off with trillions, F ukushima burns and the middle east is in anarchy. Gotta love Obama who thinks the NCAA exercise a “great diversion.”...

Nothing to see here folks! Just my teleprompter falling off it's pedestal...go back to bed :smt015

Is Obama supposed to rescue you? I mean, is he a super hero? Expected to save the world from itself?

He could at least pretend to make an effort.

No mate :-) i wasn't suggesting he ride in on his white horse and go all John Wayne and save the day for me or anyone else. but seriously, what is he doing making out it's just another day at the office when he should be at least trying to act as if he is "the most powerful man on the planet" and address the sever problems the world is facing, both home and abroad.

Case in point would be Japan's emperor who went on Japanese national TV and made a speech to his people and also requested US help, not only with the situation at F ukushima but help in general to get Japan back on its feet so to speak, what has Obama done in response, he made 2 passing comments about the situation in Japan while messing around with his chums on the golf course, making NCAA picks and meeting basketball stars while Japan struggles and the mid-east burns....talk about taking a vacation while the proverbial hits the fan.
