I agree that there would need to be an opportunity to grow through farming and raiding.

That's an interesting solution to the concern raised by Ra. I have often wondered what happened to planets that disappeared into the expanse...
Malx wrote:Why should players be sent to perg if descended?
I thought it would be a logical role play. I also thought that many players being descended might be inactive
and therefore provide some additional farming opportunities for new players.
Jorgensen wrote:I am an old Pergplayer and know the system can be manipulated, but one can make a similar rule in perg like the one in ascended, you can't attack someone who is say half your size?
That makes a lot of sense, especially if purgatory was to include new and descended players.

There is too much a power difference in the current ascended accounts to make a radical adjustment like being sent to perg by means of descended.
I thought the ideas behind several suggestions is to keep players and make it more fun for new comers to catch up, as little as it may be.
I could imagine people leaving the game if they'd be forced to perg a couple of times because they are reluctant to actively play like a top 200 ascended player.
Perhaps a full reset of all accounts on the ascended server ? then it would even the odds for existing players :>

I believe everyone can find these when searching with their mothership.
I've seen planets I abandoned in the past :>

I was suggesting a total Revamp for Pergatory as opposed to starting a another server for new players.

Some just disappear and cant be found with beacons. So it would be nice to see them made available to new players.
Clarkey wrote:I say no to descended accounts going to perg for 30 days.
Say you start a war or vendetta. You start massing your target in Main, and Descending in Ascended. Say it only takes you 3 hits to descend, then in maybe 9 hours you've descended your target, and therefore the war/vendetta is over for 30 days? Meaning there could be a lot of one-sided 9 hour battles? lame.
Its not possible to be descended if you log in and move Life Force. If a player is willing to farm a bit of DMU and build some decent personal levels then its should take a lot longer than 9 hours.
Instead of sidetracking the overall concept of revamping Purgatory with another ascended debate, I am happy to drop the last suggestion (if its unpopular) even though I think it had the potential to nicely tie the 3 servers together.

With a dedicated enemy, with larger numbers, you will be forced to do this every day, a couple of times. Depanding on how bad you want to play ascended, I figure this is a bit much for those that dont.
Especially when the enemy feels it might be a good punishment.

Yup, your approach has a lot of potential, perhaps dont involve ascended at all at this stage, as there are a lot of problems with any implementation involving it. (as you say lots of sidetracking)

Its these player fault for Neglecting there ascended's for so long.. i spent a month playing it and learnt all about ascended then build a farm list and my ascended was fairly good where others just spent a week buying Dmu and never touched it and never learnt the necessary things they needed to know to compete up there....so we end up going back to the taking pity on those who do not care for ascended and wish it to be removed...

There is only a small group that actively plays compared to the vast majority who hardly plays it.
Ascended is bugged and impropperly set up atm, enough reason not wanting to play it more then needed.
All a punishment like 'descension means going to perg' will do is giving the strongest accounts in ascended server an even longer stick to beat around with.

Remove the part about being put in perg for 30 days... completely ridiculous for reasons already explained.
Besides that, the idea could be good, assuming you could elect to leave Perg and didn't have to stay for 30 days or whatever the time period is. It shouldn't be for people who have been in Main for a while and want to just hide, that's what 4 days of PPT is for really...

Totally agree with the idea of putting new accounts into perg and not letting people access it. It will easily give them chance to learn things and if they feel they are ready to move on then let the move into the main realm. It will put them at risk and they should be ready to take that risk. No reason to have a new server. Just put them in perg then they can join alliances etc but are protected until they get so big plus its already there, it would just need some conditions changing. Simples!

Its a way for smaller accounts in main to do damage to bigger accounts..
Granted there are accounts that are Massive in main with Massive ascended but the Ratio is low compared to small accounts in main with Top accounts in ascended...I know for a fact that Perg players have no Chance against Main guys because of there Limitations so they Spent vast time on ascended finding fun out of it not only perg players there are tons of accounts in 10k+ ranking sitting with a beast of an ascended account

Its basically a way for the smaller accounts to fight back these main bullies when they come Banging at the door with there huge accounts.

oh my I never thought I would see the day people complain about having to check an ascended account 2-3 times a day, LMAO. 2-3mins for a game to much? You might as well just become a diamon if thats so

I like it a lot Robe, and also like the suggestions for setting up farms in perg. The only thing I would like to criticize is deascended moved to perg for 30 days to 14 days (auto kicked once deascension is over).

This really isn't about Ascension and trying to make it better for the Alliance who plays it the most and is the best at it (The Legion). It's about making Pergatory a realm for new players to enjoy the game, safely I suppose. The fact that this, rather large, update to ascended was slipped in, is dumb.
First of all, why should you lose MORE than you gained from ascending, when descended? You gain a stat increase when you ascend, so why should you lose more than just those stats, and be placed in Perg, where you can do nothing, when you are descended? That makes no sense at all.

What are your suggestions for revamping Purgatory?
Many players in perg who hide and play there.
They have their reasons for being there, if we should change that, perhaps they'd leave ?

Maybe it's the fact that a lot of people still don't understand how to play ascended, or atleast prevent themselves from being descended.
I mean there's no help guide is there.

This way another dead server could be bought back to life and used for its original purpose
(to protect the weak).
I have updated the original suggestion with the feedback provided so far.

All new players start off in Purgatory for 30 days until they get a handle on the game.

They should get added bonuses to help them start off such as double bank size and AT.
Once they have been playing > 30 days they would auto graduate to the main realm.
No player should be able to elect to go to Purgatory to hide.
- See Below
If a player is descended then they should be sent to Purgatory for 30 days. - Nice idea but in a war how will u return to fight. I like it but it makes wars more interesting but easier to win at.
What are your suggestions for revamping Purgatory?
Ok revamp Preg good idea but bad if your putting the newbies in there with the people who are ruleing it.
Now this might be been suggested in the thread or in another but along with thosse ideas and others.
why not this
A New Relam - Same Idea as you but somewhere where the big boy who know the game back to front cant pester them.
All new players start off in "Lets for argument sake call it Realm C" for 30 days until they get a handle on the game.
During this time they are not be able to be attacked or trade with players in main / Pregatory
They should get added bonuses to help them start off such as double bank size and AT.
Once they have been playing > 30 days they would auto graduate to the main realm.
No player should will be able to return ever.
In this realm we will have to have 50% of Inactive accounts say inactive for 6- 12 months so players can farm, raid and learn basics. If the account become active the 30 day rule will be in effect automatically.
See you idea but with a twist.
Side Note - I know this is about purg but i thought i will post my idea see what you think and if it picks up i will get a mod to spilt it off so we can continue it there and leave this to its crouse, if it doesnt then leave it be.Sammael
