Make it 100k Glory per ascension. Or something like that anyway. Make it so that you have to REALLY sacrifice the glory.

How about we get to choose our title and give it a nice new font color. Make it really costly in G&R. say, every 20k G&R points gets you the option to change your ascension title.. This way people do not have to make the full ascensions if they dont want to and do it only for the name because they do not like the name they currently have. Anyone that is ascended with 20K G&R (or more) is able to change their ascension title like they can with the red titles, but to cut down on confusion, the PLAYER (not people trying to recon them) is able to see the number of ascensions they have made with their account.

Also, if for example I am UnKnown but change my for example to Prior, it will be in a different font color.. basically hiding your ascension levels from people trying to recon you. You should also have a feature put in where they can click to display to everyone that recons them their number of ascensions so that if someone is buying an account the number of ascensions can be verified and people wont be scammed.

You can also put it in so that if someone changes their title, they have to maintain a certain amount of G&R to keep that new title. After all, if you have lots of glory and a good reputation you can pretty much write your own ticket.. but as you drop out of the spotlight people take you less and less seriously. To do this, you can make it where they have the new title for 6 months, after which it reverts back to the original title if they do not "renew" the purchase with another 20k G&R. This will make it more competitive to get to and stay in G&R range.


Side note: a new clean up of all the crap accounts (old accounts that havent been logged into for two years or more with low ID numbers and dont produce anything worth taking but about once every two or three months) and recycling of their ID numbers would be nice.. Hold an auction for ID numbers and change the ID numbers of people accounts with the old smaller ones that are easier to remember. (this will also make it more difficult to find people on ascended since you can auction off the id's for both or just main or ascended....

Thanks Enter|Shikari. I think it makes sense.. especially since G&R is pointless after you decide to stop ascending or finally ascend all the way... At least this gives people something to do with it.

this is a pretty good idea and to piggyback on it with the changing of ascension titles would be good if you could change points around like a stat point system since ascensions keep everything well balanced beside the ascended race bonus should let people be able to let people choose where they want to be more skilled at.

keeping to the original
1) 20K G&R
2) Title can only be changed seasonally (3 months)... optional
3) Stat points can only be rebuilt after 6 months...optional
4) 5 G&R consumed every day to keep title and stats, if not consumed stats and title return to normal

I like the current system more, though the last couple of Ascention names could be changed

titles should be earnt not brought, I don't like the idea of some prior suddenly being able to call themselves unknown..

No... No... No... Half the reason I did ascend all the way was to have something I could show off...

i would agree but then why would a prior get 20k g&r just to call them selves unknown when if they got that much G&R they would already be be close to it in name and power
getting 20k G&R i think customizing a title should be earned since that is alot of G&R.
but they should add in something to tell people who recon that the title has changed but doesnt tell what the original was. something like "self proclaimed The Unknown"

Title can be in a different color.. not to hard to change a font color... so anyone with the nice new shinny custom title would have it in a special color.. that will let people know that its a custom title, but the original could be hidden or shown as an option for the player... reread my first post and you will understand..

a blue would look nice xD

hmm have the main title shown in a recon log but have it set as the hardest thing to recon worse then planets lol

I believe you would have to make all the ascensions up to Unknown to unlock this special attribute to your account. Though I think it should have to be renewed yearly each year you renew it would be more expensive or if you change it it would also cost more G&R. Basically it would not add anything beyond the Unknown lvl just a bragging rights thing with a special font color for those beyond Unknown and the ability to rename themselves a title only they could understand since it would be beyond those not of their rank to understand or foresee.

I think setting custom titles is a terrible idea.

You will get names varying from very stupid, to things totally not related to gatewars.
Like with the race names now. (I know this was cos of other reasons, but some race names you see now, sjees.)

It will 'dirty' the looks of the game more. I would prefer to see it more in the stargate context insstead of seeing people with titles like "Teletubby" and "pokemon" and what not.

Also, after the last ascension, GNR should be removed.
