I know that, it's not that it's new that people are "mean", but the fact is, the "ratio" increased over time: less people, but still much of this behavior. It always existed. But it's not same when you have more than one thousand of regular posters compared to less than couple hundred, and that you got a bigger % mean/total than it used to be. Not about absolute, but relative numbers. At least, for me.

Do you not have anything better to discuss.....

I hardly find the so called trolls on the forum to blame... they exist on every forum and surprisingly enough the answer to someone coming to the forums and telling everyone they've been massed has ALWAYS been "go find a commander, alliance or a friend that will help you...none of us really care".

For the very last time and for your benefit and your benefit only SS. The game is dead. Stargate, it's main advertising, reason to be and source is GONE. The market is saturated with half dead text based MMO's. The text based MMO generation is two years passed finished and the new generation of internet gamers have things like FREE D&D and beyond graphic MMO's to play, easy access steam, XBL, PSN...why the hell would they come here? It's like a 25yo asking why no one's playing an Atari anymore when there's an xbox 360 sitting in the next room....

.

I have never ever said it was a sudden event that the attitude of the people playing this game will cause its downfall. I've said it for the last 3 years (my entire time on this forum).

What pray tell do you blame it on mordack? If not the constant trolling and "running out of town" of those that do come to play, what is it? The mechanics? Sure, that plays a part. A large part. But there are people that have played only a fraction of the time I have and far surpassed me ingame. Mechanics can be overcome (not always easily though), but the people can't.

There have always been sarcastic idiots, trolls, etc. yes. To deny that is pure insanity. But like a pot on the stove, our community has been reducing down. In the past there was lots of people to act as a buffer, so those sour individuals weren't the vast majority. You had options to escape or ignore it. At present, not so much. Its quite the opposite. imho.

Ya more nice guys have left than **Filtered**.

Blaming the end of the SG Franchise is no different than me blaming the toxicity of this community [-X

How exactly is it no different because it seems fairly different to me? Games Workshop biggest miniature producer in the world dropped huge a few years after the last LOTR film came out. You know why? People stopped buying their LOTR product in anywhere near as much bulk. Of course consumer behaviour is directly linked to continuity of source material. It may survive it for now but you're basically claiming that a human body can exist without any form of sensory input to acquire sustinance or shelter..yeah it'd perhaps live off a what it's got but without the ability to find new life it's on a running clock.

As for dead... well... even in modern science the terminology 'dead' is still not entire agreed upon. So where you see endurance and dying I see death and the parasites feeding on the corpse.

I'll try pop by msn more. :smt050

On the whole, I agree with Semper, although I feel it's less connected to the demise of SG than to the decline of this style of game as a whole. Even browser MMORPGs based on relatively contemporary or timeless aspects of pop culture are on the wane.

Yeah. Kind of what he said about the Atari and the XBox. (nice one, by the way) Right?
Anyway, I've been on forums with only 5 people, had fun then. Maybe it is people playing 'city' in the ruins of a great metropolis, yes.. but then, who cares.

Need unbiased figures? Look at Bazsy's Monthly Forum Statistics. I'll buzz him for Septembers results. You will find it's all in your head. Sorry. You're delusional.
As am I, but that's beside the point. I turned alcoholic by choice.

I don't think I'm biased. Biased again everybody, possibly, but that sort of defeats the point.
