I was in school, I was in the 7th grade (13 then) and I remember sending my MS out in school to find planets. I'm 20 now... :/

Plus i started in Nov 2005 myself and began my 1st quantum wave (wave 4) shortly after, plus my id was 42053 meaning over 42k accounts made before mine.

So 100% for sure SGW went live AT LEAST in 2004, if i am not mistaken feb 2004, meaning yes there was a beta of the game up in 2003.

You forget.. Several of the waves were bugged... and reset early.

For example gambling waves 1 and 2. 1 week wave and 1 month wave.

Uberman, 2 months.

There was about 7 waves I know of that were so bugged the game recorded a legends way early and reset.

Game launched in Feb 2005.

Correct...but that means that forums were created at the same time...or possibly before...I dunno I'm getting confused now...

Forums were created a couple days before the game started...FORUM only joined the forums on January 30th, 2005.

All I was saying was that thread was about the game starting

Edit: Though I guess to be fair, it probably was a welcome to both the game and the forums lol considering it is the very first thread on the forums....

Mathlord is right about Psi. First registered forum user. I have an account dating back to the 22nd of February. Not telling you what it's called though

This 28 rounds of Q putting it back to 04 is nonsense too. I remember being one of those who registered just before my original forum account back in Feb 05 and Q didn't exist.

ETL started just after me. I knew him from being a puppy in the cosmos. We started Omega together with Nuto, and she'll confirm it too that Gatewars certainly didn't exist prior to Feb 05.

And EDIT - Just seen Kikaz's post. Correct sir.

The Tauri Alliance was founded the day the game was created and we were founded in Feb 05

There are a lot of great character histories from players that played back in those days...they were good times

Oh, and try telling Goo, Saz, JaseB, Wolf359 and a whole host of other characters that the game started prior to February 2005! Good luck with that

I think what really happened, in 2004 Jason was extremely frustrated with Stargate suing him for using Stargate without using their consent. After Jason changed all in-text names to something different not relating directly with stargate he disappeared for a long duration of time. I remember it was months without any update and the decrease of players just started declining due of no updates. After his break from pulling all nighters changing the names and graphics then i guess by then I was gone lol...

Everyone stop with all this 2004 nonesense already..

Quantum released on March 20th, 2005.

Main released on Feb 1st, 2005.
