Clarkey wrote:lol at those saying admin can't spam our email boxes with emails enticing us to come back.... you signed up to the game with YOUR email address, he can do what he wants. lol. And 1 email doesn't consitute spam!
But I think it would be a great idea to send some sort of email. It won't get me back, but it could get many others back. Could also get people we don't want back too.

Hmm not sure about that. This forum for example, the administrators can send out a mass email to all members if they wanted because most people when registering on a forum leave the "receive email from administrators" box checked. Maybe the GW game has something similar? But then again I haven't registered an account since 2005 so I am likely wrong.Mordack wrote:Actually where we live, Clarkey, doing that would be illegal under the terms of the Data Protection Act. However, I assume that Canadian law, of which I am woefully ignorant, is what applies to this game and its users.

Found this easily :p
Service Announcements
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. We reserve the right to send an e-mail to our users if, for instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.
