lol at those saying admin can't spam our email boxes with emails enticing us to come back.... you signed up to the game with YOUR email address, he can do what he wants. lol. And 1 email doesn't consitute spam!

But I think it would be a great idea to send some sort of email. It won't get me back, but it could get many others back. Could also get people we don't want back too.

Actually where we live, Clarkey, doing that would be illegal under the terms of the Data Protection Act. However, I assume that Canadian law, of which I am woefully ignorant, is what applies to this game and its users.

Hmm not sure about that. This forum for example, the administrators can send out a mass email to all members if they wanted because most people when registering on a forum leave the "receive email from administrators" box checked. Maybe the GW game has something similar? But then again I haven't registered an account since 2005 so I am likely wrong.

Service Announcements

Customer Service

Well the mail won't be promotional, it would just point out that the game has moved to a new server and it has been improved etc.

Make a few graphic improvements then send it..it's a dead horse..but graphically this game is behind all the others...you need some eye candy.

It wouldn't be promotional at all because everyone that receives the email is already registered in the game. Anyway I still think it's worth doing but as JT says some new graphics would be better first otherwise if people come back they see the same old thing.

existing people with accounts which are inactive are inactive for a various of reason.... not because the game went down for a day and throught it went down forever...

its probs because there is no way of catching up to the top 10 accounts nowadays... unless you have no life or thousands to spend on a game which is slow losing players yearly and losing its active player base as time goes on...

Id suggest getting jason to do advertisement of the game and changing a few things ingame

when you think how much money has bin spend ingame on ss/uss/protection/resources/planets.... and what advertisement have you seen for this game...??????????? where is the money going... it doesnt cost that much to host a game online or to have your own server...
I could be wrong and there be loads of advertisement being done...

maybe the game should go to facebook... and a facebook application to be made... maybe a smartphone application... iphone application... android application

if you really want the game grow you need to think further.... making the game more attractive etc

I think Clarkey made a good point a few threads back as to why there's no point in advertising the game. So yeah, pretty convinced advertising wont help at this point. Unless graphics improve. But then, not really sure what kinda graphics improvement can be made on a turn based text game... but either way, admin meet some time today
