Theres a eppy of Stargate Atlantis Corona Mass Ejection in which it would kill the planet they were on.
If one was to hit Earth, I would assume that it would set the atmosphere on fire, then the whole earth on fire due to the corona mass ejection being so hot.
So dont worry about any EMP hurting our tech, as we wont be alive to use them. lol

LOL, that's a tad over the top don't you think (to much OTT to be funny)?
I am getting the impression non of you have actually read the article (maybe a paragraph or 3) in it's entirety

Nah its not over the top.
I started to read it and as I kept reading, it just showed how the person who wrote that blog thingy has no real idea what hes talking about and doesnt understand science enough.

Remember in disaster movies like Deep Impact the truth is buried so that social order doesnt collapse into chaos, like the band playing on the Titanic while the ship sinks we will keep going as normal until the end, dont know if this Solar phase will be the end or something else a year or a hundred years, or a thousand years from now, it dont really matter, most people dont want to know and wouldnt accept it even if they did know...... ignorance is bliss

sun has its cycles each 11 years , there will be several x-class cme that might disrupt electronic devices. this time itmight be harder due to our sun entering in a disturbed part of a milky way galactic (mayan long calendar coincide)
