If you increase the CER it will only change the % of the bigger guys and they will continue to pull away,
Not necessarily, I can just do what i did before, increase the cap, end of.
The cap increases but the way the % decreases will still be in reference to a 2 bill planet count. So effectively everyone will stay at the same decreasing rate, except the max decrease rate (100%) will occur up to *insert new cap*.

General Chaos,
I was not trying to suggest an ascended plague...
nor do I think that Sol was suggesting that...
I believe we were simply discussing the method of calculating the impact of the soft cap that ascended server already has.
as for increasing the CER causing bigger realms to pull away further from the pack,
that again depends on how it's implemented...
as Sol is clarifying...

Pavi, if you want help growing your realm, feel free to ask,
there are several ways.
but by the time they get to being 30, 40, or 50 bil planet size, they gain about 1 new planet a week...
An exaggeration?
Sure... but not by much.

I know from being 17 bil+ planet count
that when you get even to 17 bil, the growth rate would be 2% of your raw...
By the time one gets to 30 bil planets, it sure looks like a hard cap... for details,
track the 10 biggest army sizes from the Top 10 list on ascended.
CCexy, the 30 bil planet realms keep the rest of us in business,
all the way down to people with 6 bil planet counts...
and while I didn't have that many a few weeks ago, I do now.

Wait... whut?
I don't need help, I'm doing fine. Bring the increase to 6b and I'm still not effected by it, this is for the little ones, not for me ^.^

Poll added, quick poll is a good poll.
The decreasing thing will still be the same, so once you are over the cap you will grow as if the cap was as it is now. So NO ONE will grow any faster when they are off the cap.
Cap is currently at 3 bill planets.
Read before you post as well, many people do not want to repeat themselves for the sake of an illiterate lazy user.
EDIT
It's pretty hard to imagine but here:
slow % decrease timeline:
0 planet size ----------------5 bill-------------10 bill--------------> infinity planet count
goes slower and slower as you go ->
running along parallel we have the cap which goes:
<---------------->-----------5 bill-------------10 bill--------------> infinity planet count
3 bill cap, which forces capped CER to be 100% of uncapped
So after this one is 'done' it goes back to the slow % decrease timeline. Meaning they will go back to the normal decrease like everyone else, and everyone else will have the same % decrease. People will just 'hold out' longer.

4 billion is fair enough i believe BUT considering the size of some people at 20 billion to 30 billion maybe MAYBE 5 billion isnt that bad.

I've went for 5b being the cap. Means when you start getting the decrease you can hit the nice 20b targets. Seems fair enough, and simple enough.

if the cap is higher, smaller players need to have a higher amount of planets before they can farm these people whose growth is slowed, thus slowing their growth. i oppose this suggestion

i voted for 4 billion meant 5 billion wont let me change

Ima vote 4 bill, means they can attack up to 20 bill, which is good enough.

Voted 5b, hitting up to 25b with ease would be nice. Not that I tend to drop below the cap... but for new players it will help them get a foothold a little faster

Prehaps you should consider doing this over a few months. 1b/month maybe?
Some people have built 120q defences, now, if the cap is increased the inevitably so will the thresholds for the %.
This will make defences a little weaker and therefore at a disadvantage.
Just so you all know, I have 0 defence in ascended...so this only makes my life better, before you start moaning

increasing the cap would bring new players into reach of seasoned players faster too.. remember the 5x rule also applies in reverse..
leave as is,
