I found the exact same guitar model I ordered from Germany, as they don't have much choice of this particular brand in Slovenia, in a Japan online shop that was 50% cheaper. Luckily my gut feeling was telling me something was wrong, did some more background check and found out it was a fraud.
Granted there have to be some online shops that are a fraud in Europe, America and other continents as well, but the bulk of them, at least to my experience, is in Asia and a lot of the people think "well workforce is cheap there so that's why the cost is so low, better buy there" and lose their money.

I think ur mistaking China with Japan. The Japanese are far more advanced than most European nations, and considering my family have had business dealings with the Japanese for over a century, I can tell you there are few others more hardworking.

Actually you're right, I checked just now (it was over a year and a half ago) and the site has mailing address to Beijing, so you're correct, it was China. My bad. #-o

I know how advanced they are, I know it's perhaps one of the best places to be right now due to the economic crisis as Yen is one of the most stable currencies right now.
I know the Japanese are otherwise very hardworking and proud people, but fact remains that south-east Asia seems to hold a lot of these sites that are actually frauds so I recommend caution when dealing with any online shop you're unfamiliar with, doing some background checks can never hurt ;)

Indeed! That's why when one decides to do business with a Chinese company, one must need to get an independent 'checker', who basically make sure the company is legit. The major players in this market are Aussie companies.

Exactly why I was hoping for a honorable SGW player from Japan that could assist me.

Worst case scenario I'll order parts from UK.

Too many problems ordering from US since their company's claim to have parts that fit Euro-models of cars but when you get them they don't fit at all. Far from it.

Litchfield imports in the UK deal with Japanese cars, they seem to be ok as I know a couple of people who've bought there and had no problems.

It was a few years ago. All I know was that they had no problems and the service was good. I've noticed that the company is quite high in the google rankings.

But here's an idea. Why don't you approach the manufacturer? Ask THEM for authorised reputable dealers in Japan. That's what I used to do.

I can't be bothered to scroll up but u want parts for a Subaru right? Only proper dealer I can find is this: http://www2.plala.or.jp/office-y/subaru.htm. Phone subaru and ask if they are authorised dealers.

Yeah I'll just do that and go for it.

Might not be worth it chasing cheaper parts in Asia if the odds of being scammed are higher then getting what I need.

I'll make the call tomorrow. Thanks m8.
