Meh, real war doesn't involve PPT.

I'll give you an example. Germany attacked Poland. It didn't stop, it kept going. Until the war was over, there was no treaty inbetween.

Fortunately for you, I am not under your command. Else your villages would have been burnt, your women would have been de-flowered and your children would be made slaves. xDaku has declared that I am not allowed to touch anybody else, else I could have had another fight with one of my favourites

However, Rudy's village people will be made to wear pink hot pants and do the macarena. Which again is your unfortune, not mine.

In actual fact, treaties have been tools of war for a long long time. In early modern european relations war was interjected with peace so allow for the powers to manouvre themselves into strong positions. 12 year truce between spain and netherlands, peace of prague in the 30years war etc.
Similarly, the Korean war was renowned for the use of peace tactics where a small amount of land would be gained between peace treaties.
