its called learn how to fight like everyone else has

honestly all dde ever do when they lose an onliner is complain script multi what ever u lot think of it is rather pathitic

Players were able to do 100s of hits in seconds on an web element that is not behaving as intended .... and dont tell me its normal you all first HAVE to do a spy attempt first ;)
It was a work around, and you know it ....


I tested it and realized the speed massing was severely bugged ..... don't say its normal behavior, as this way of massing was never intended, ... and only few know how it works

That being the case, it gives players a massive advantage over players who don't.

All in all ... it was bug abuse to use it :)


Dont call me pathetic over something I am trying to fix in the game please ... if you can not contribute to this topic I urge you to stay out of it.

wait, so people mass without adjusting repeat rate and entering 15, tab and holding enter while juggling repairs?

I 110% assumed that this was common practice and that it was just....common sense?

Its something that's worked on literally every browser ive used from IE to FF, to chrome. No idea it was supposed to be prevented by code.

Yup. it didnt work in IE, and FF depended on version, opera seems to have had some changes recently ... but the biggest killer was chrome, literally able to do 100s of attacks in a few seconds with war war, it mean you could kill a fresh build def in under 3 seconds.

Always worked for me in IE...I tend to avoid holding down enter anyway because if you are unlucky in ABs, you die a long painful death.

It can be defended against if you pay close enough attention...

Massing / Hits over time limit - a 'throttle' has been added to the number of hits you can do over 2 seconds, and 20 seconds. The reason for this is to create some equality between browsers (some browsers allow 'button holding' on attack while some do not), and mousers/clickers, as well as allowing a small chance for an online account to defend ....
The limits are currently set to: 6 attacks in 2 seconds, and 40 attacks in 20 seconds.
Note that this counts simply number of attacks BY YOU (not turns used), regardless of unique targets. There is nothing stopping 2 or 20 of you, hitting all at once on a single target. The limit here is just YOUR ATTACKS over time.

I think this is WAY way more widespread than Duck gives it credit for then, because there's no way in my million onliners a majority of people have been opening new tabs or entering 15/enter/backpage alternations.

Like i say, with the commonplace usage of it both by alliance mates and enemies i honestly thought it was just a game practice.

And yeh math, always worked in IE for me as well. I've never come across a browser that wouldn't let me tab and hold enter.

It's useful for spamming ascended upgrades too :)

Obviously i don't know if ive been massed by a chrome user. I suspect tziki was on chrome when we had our 30tril/30tril onliner and he lost his strike whilst i lost my defence. Which is fair enough in my eyes.

I've used it on chrome and had to adjust my repeat rate because it wasn't viable, you were more likely to mass your own strike unless you compensated higher strike and therefore additional losses, and as for wep damage you'd need to be a damn good time keeper to keep it pressed just enough to drop the defence without zeroing your attack weps. Or Murder your own UU if the ABs didn't go your way.

I know from experience it isn't as clear cut as hold enter = Profit.

Excuse me...attack, again, attack and hold enter with something or someone...tab open, withdrawal, repair repeat....that's not not learning how to fight :smt017 that's fighting?

@ Tek..100 tril defenses are dropped in mere seconds..allot of data over the last month was collected to come to a viable conclusion on this feature. ALLOT of data. ;)

In them good old days of 1 turn massing through nox, we used to hold down the enter key with a little rock or a lighter and go about our day on a second computer chatting with eachother. Once every seven seconds, an attack would go through.

I miss the server war sometimes...

Perhaps it's different from the method i'm using then because i've been in 30-45 minute onliners where it's pretty clear we were both doing what i beleived was being described in this thread. Which doesn't match up with 100tril defences going poof in secs :shock:

Actually, with a minor adjustment it can could be.

After more tests on the dev server earlier, it was established a big defense with war war can still fall under a minute .... thats helluva lot better then under 5 seconds

When I lost my 75 tril defense in the TAF vs OE war, it was in under 20 seconds. I still saw it, but lagged on the alliance repair page and lost it. In that war, both sides became quite proficient at massing 50-100 tril defenses in way under a minute. A war setting oftentimes became a death sentence for a defense unless you were REALLY fast and had tabs set ready for either defense repair or 1 hour PPT. Just the nature of this game. The best way to stop a massing attempt is to catch the person building up for the massing attempt, then you're ready for it.

You can block a speed massing attempt, though you really need an alliance tag to do it easily. Withdrawing naq and repairing through tabs is exceedingly difficult provided your opponent built up enough for it.

Having 6 attacks per 2 seconds isn't terrible...that still means, if it takes about 900 turns = 60 attacks on a person, that a massing can be done in 20 seconds.

PS Holding down enter is never the best choice as you can't count out how many attacks it does. There's too much variation. You can listen for the clicks (IE) but even then that number is not always the accurate final number. Off soapbox now...

Well either it's not what i used to do, or someone put much more thought into it then i did :D

I can't think of many wars where people haven't seemingly utilised this against me, and that includes pretty much every major alliance post 2006.

Strange it didn't become an issue until 2012 :shock: Anywho's, if it's determined a bug it should be removed from being used across the board so good luck with this i guess.
