Ok so everyone's priests are now producing 2/3rds of what they were. But they are producing the same income as what they were.... so the priests over the 33% still make income.

But it has been stated that priests are now twice as powerful. Should they not also make twice as much income?

Subjectively, I don't like the update as it will take longer for people to reach 20....Also a few days warning might have been nice so that people didn't have 66% of their army trained in useless, untrainable units.

Objectively, it is probably a good update (time will tell, of course). The people who will suffer the most from this are the ones who have not ascended at all. Their stats that they think are huge are about to be overtaken by lots of people. :-"

Borek wrote:Yup this is pretty stupid, no warning given, no way to untrain, plus everyone ahead of me is now completely uncatchable and you have just tripled the time for every ascension from now on.

Everyone ahead of you is completely uncatchable? Percentage-wise, it has not given people ahead of you an advantage... you are now ascending at 2/3rds of the speed that you were, and the people above you are ascending at 2/3rds of the speed that they were...

Borek wrote:Well the only way to farm decent naq is to build a lot of MS's, the only way to build a lot of MS's is to sacrifice massive amounts of your army, now when we do that we screw ourselves over by having less army and even less ascension points earnt.

Good point. When you train MSs, the units should not "disappear" from your total army size. Yes they are off piloting ships, but those ships are a part of your army.

Well I guess yay for making us play this a couple extra months...sigh. People were already going to get a flare for the game in the later ascensions which were going to take quite awhile and differing strategies were going to be put in place with how to deal with that.

It's still not going to be profitable to farm the other big ascenders out there thanks to limited motherships and losing motherships so now everyone is going to turtle and continue to farm inactives.

can someone explain to me how this update is going to increase any action on NG? the way i see it, ascentions get slowed down by 33% once a player ascends and can build the correct ratio of priests to other, but most likely everyone will put the excess units into def, cov/ac which will make them harder to hit.

it is way easier to farm inactives, rather than farm actives imo and farming inactives isnt really action.

hmm so the quantum update comes in the NG.... in Quantum it says galactic logs and in NG galactic activity...

that 33 % real population update not convinced with that...

He has a point there

Either I am crazy or something is seriously wrong with the new priest arrangement..

I just ascended. I trained 33% of my army into priests (1450 priests total). I also got 100 priest techs.

By the new calcs... 1450 priests should generate 1450x2 = 2900 ascended power production. The 100 priest techs should double that. So I should be on 5400 ascended power production.

Instead I am on 1827 ascended power production. Please explain. #-o

EDIT: I woke up and it was fixed.

EDIT 2: It still doesn't update instantly.. you have to wait for turn change.

I don't think it works like ppl are saying it does. I have 2657 total army size. 2607 are priests, way over 33%. Tech is at 58, higgs production is at 2800/turn. I waited for 1 turn, got 8 more, trained them to priests and higgs production went up to 2807. If only 33% give higgs, then adding those 8 would have done nothing to increase my production since I am way past 33% already. My take on it is that those priests still give higgs, so they are not dead weight, but only 33% worth of your total population in priests give the extra higgs you get for tech bonuses. So yo can still train most of your population to priests you just don't get the bonus for all of them. They still help though in base higgs production.

I will have a look to verify your claims.

Positive my Higgs are glitched now, I just dumped 400 or so after raiding and such into priests, but nothing happened. Then after a turn passed my higgs per turn caught up. I may still be getting higgs from untrained production. As of now my higgs production is at 3265. If I wake up in the next 8-10 hours and It is much higher than that, then we know there is a problem. Before it may have just been lag considering it took a turn to pass for me to see the higgs/turn to go up for my 400 or so.

mate think about it, yes you are dumping them into priests, but your overall army size is growing by your UP, so you have more total army, so 33% of the total army after a turn change is an increase, therefore your higgs production will rise.

If you are overtrained then you basically increase higgs production by (33% of your per turn UPx2)xTech multiplier each turn change

Is much betr this way with 33 % because now we have more naq for farming(this means betr up for next ascension) and second much income to can build a decent defence to can protect your prists

If you keep attacking players with a defence, yes. If you destroy the enemy's MSes you can hit them with 0 losses. Takes some losses to get through the defences though.
