If the poachee leaves without a word, mass them for treason, and depending on practicality, also mass the poacher and his alliance.

How do you think NATO and the EU would react if Germany (economic engine of Europe) would leave both organisations to join China in a new one? (They would probably be too chicken to do anything, but the point remains; same goes for most poached alliances.)

China will need trade partners for fresh water and food at some point. GW alliances will need trade partners naq and uu's at some point.

Yes i did recruot you, but it didnt happen the way tetris describes in his opening post.
