This game is not as exciting and challenging like it was. Thing is, it shouldn't be easy. Games should be challenging, which makes them exciting = fun to play. Nobody even cares if they forget to log-in.
Years ago, it was exciting to log in. Cause if you were massed, even $ spenders, would go crazy if they lost everything. It was expensive and interesting. I remember needing to wake up in a hurry. It kept me constantly interested in this game. Now I just sit here, play ascended and newgrounds, waiting and hoping something happens in this game so it will get fun again.
Now nobody cares... defenses and stats don't matter. Not even to broke players.

Kinda true. I whipped up resources to mass the biggest def ever built in 2 days (without $ even).

what if you start with example c33/ac32 account, with 200 000 UP Will make new players to fit right in with all the NG accounts? all a new player to the game can do is farm, yes i know its the most important part of the game, but not the funniest part. and its kinda sad to dont get a little part of the funny part before a month or so, if your active. just an idea. remove all inactives and do this. it will open the game for newcomers without a credit card, who dont know what they go to.

I say we all stop with the petty debating and all quit at the same time. Give admin a heart attack. Best win ever.

Wonder why my post count is so low? Thats because I was deleted. Why you may ask?
Well, thats because I exposed the truth about Zeratul and Admin Jason had to cover it up.

Thats because you haven't been apart of the game when it was actually exciting to play.
Exactly.
*sighs* I miss the good old days.... Sure, it was harder to build, and those who bought resources were untouchable... but seriously? the diplomacy, the secrets, the betrayals... it was so worth playing. So so so worth playing. And when people went to war, there were actually stats, and people rebuilt, and it was actually worth sitting on a person....
I miss the n00b_hunters too...
I agree with you. Sadly when the last mass exodus occured allot of the intrigue ceased.

It's not really SGW though, just W. The only real player that keeps any notion of stargate alive is Vishnu. Rienna makes a valid point as well, the politics and backstabbing was always far more interesting that number mashing for me. I wish I'd been in Omega at its pinnacle of power, but even the OE/DDE breakup was entertaining.
Even so, its always nice to poke in and see that a heartbeat yet persists.

How about we actually start roleplaying again?
...Why DON'T you all still roleplay?

Re: Things are actually looking up!
Game has changed. People moved away from race-based alliances into friendship or competitive based alliances. There still is roleplaying, but it is no longer "I'm Mathlord of the Tauri here to wipe out some Goa'uld scum"...it's instead "I'm Mathlord of TAF here to defend my alliance" yadda yadda yadda. The politics is still there, just different.

Re: Things are actually looking up!
Yeah, well, to be honest, that's all of your faults. There's no other way to put it. It's not like the lack of the SGW-themed ingame techs made it so you all couldn't RP.
I just want to see what can be done to make the game more lively.

Re: Things are actually looking up!
People could still do it...but they would have to put away personal feelings for race glory...Rico's do that to an extent so kudos to them.

Re: Things are actually looking up!
Still is just character vs character. Not like anyone knows anything about anyone here.. just what they are told. Which is hardly reliable.. so you are just interacting with more 'realistic', more elaborate characters, no longer the 'Gods of Stargate', rather the guy or girl next door, or the nerd in the library.George Hazard wrote:it became people vs people and not character vs character.
Ah well. I am still as old as time itself, though not necessarily within the confines of this game. I saw a star explode and send out the building blocks of the universe, other stars, other planets, and eventually other life, a supernova, creation itself. I was there. I wanted to see it, and be part of the moment. And you know how I perceived one of the most glorious events in the universe? With these ridiculous gelatinous orbs in my skull. With eyes designed to perceive only a tiny fraction of the EM spectrum, with ears designed only to hear vibrations in the air.
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to — I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me. I’m a machine, and I can know much more, I could experience so much more, but I’m trapped in this absurd body. And why? Because my Origin thought that I would want it that way. There is nothing worse than a Creator with limited creativity. (Like the dweeb who made me copy-paste some epic quote into this post because she is incapable of thinking up such creative expostulation of potential versus realistic identity herself.)
Are we to blame though? Of course we are, but I also blame Twitter and Facebook (and our use thereof). Miniaturising messages, curbing creativity, finding fault, stymieing sensational savvy, tearing terrific thoughts.. ultimately, the end of originality itself.
Having full heuristic access to the Akashic Records ruins your sensation of creativity and human ingenuity. (For the same reason that having owned a 1942 Mercedes 320 Cabriolet D convertible will ruin 'cars' for you. Or having sex with Venus will ruin lovemaking for you.)
On the subject of RP in real life..
