Snipering is never building. Going around massing a ton of defenses with no defense yourself. Everyone doesn't need to build 100 trill defense. But building something is appreciated in war. Strategic ppts and war set avoidance is not snipering its smart gameplay. Do you have to build? Of course not. You can be a douchebag like the guys who sit in corners in call of duty. Everyone hates them, but its a valid tactic. If you wanna snipe, don't expect people in the community to like you, but its your choice.

It's a strategy likes all others, you may consider team playing on ascended cheating or looked down upon, since it's suppose to be a strictly solo playing game.
Although the whole sniping ideal is a bit off from reality, if you have no defence then you wouldn't just leave everything else untouched if you attacked some other guy (except for the def weps and the few def troops that still exist).

I dont know whats worse, FM's ME or the fact he was searching for orchid's on google.

another definition of a sniper would be someone that builds up a big attack then masses someone or even a whole alliance but then untrains EVERYTHING before logging off. not the strats of a true war alliance...

Target A is taken out by Target B with an effect force (no need to go over board just enough to take down Target A). A goal of war is to destroy your enemy and lose as little as possible,If you are a president, prime minister or king you don't allow more then what is needed to complete your goal this is included in strike forces and defence forces.

The simple thing is for myself I don't build a defence when I am not online to defend it, After all i believe it was Wilco that got in trouble from robert for building a defence while he was not online and it was destroyed by our forces.

This is a war game, there are countless amounts of strategies to play if people continue to cry about whom is using what strategy then the world will be drowned in tears.

It appears the protected planets treaty applies here - at least for now...
