The actual time between joining and being able to send reasources 'used' (and I stress the little ' ' ) to be a week. But things may have changed... I'm not really sure, this has always been a shaky subject.
Either way, it won't hurt to try and ship him stuff, you will simply get an error message and the naq/UU/AT wont ship.

Oops, forgot to mention that. I have supporter status, but my new officer does not. Do both players have to have SS in order for the tranfer to work, even if it's only going one way?

Thanks. I guess I'll just keep trying to send him stuff until either it works or the server can't take it anymore and there's an explosion of naquadah and UUs.

ありがとう。 The more I read the forums for advice, the more I get into this game. And it's all just text! Unreal.
On a side note, I think it would be great to see hunks of Naquadah ore, Teal'cs, Thors, robot spiders, and Macguyvers raining down from the sky.

OK, I just succeeded in giving my new officer some fun money and fun friends (naq and UUs). So that clocks in at about 4 hours or so.
That sounds werid, but yeah--about 4 hours (maybe 6) after he signed up his account on the main server, I was able to start giving him stuff.
