actually, the stupidest one Ive heard in a long time! they keep popping up, wonder why? maybe becoz n00bs come and dont like being small time guys and want to get Big fast, not gonna happen...
there are already plenty WAY better reasons pointed why not to even consider this idea, so
just be good little farms and produce naq now, ok?!

Actually I think you missed the part where it could promote attacks too.. I also suggested it should work for spending naq... if you have 60 mil naq and you spend it... have the "attack page" delay that too... you won't have any.. but if someone isn't smart enough to recon you first.. they may attack you thinking you still have 60 mil naq.

This still would need a lot of work and discussion to work it out.. but the point is to make USE of the spies.. not just let them sit there where those players with a trillion spies don't have to worry about how much naq they have in the open.. because NO body can see it but themselves.

All I see anyone doing with spies now is sabotaging other players... if a player had to use some of their covert missions to recon before an attack.. they'd probably think more about whether to use a mission to sabotage or will they save that mission for a possible future recon.

BTW: most of the people (not all) that I see complaining that it's a bad idea are the ones that are ALREADY big... They don't want to loose their EASY naq gathering because it would me they have to plan their attacks.

Oh and another thing.. This is happening to me in Chaos, and I'm not such a small fry, I just happen to be getting attacked by ranks 2 - 60.... or so.

But how would your suggestion change that? Those with the high covert would still have their naq protected by their high covert!

And I didn't miss the point where it would promote attacks - because your argument for that is not valid. Even if it takes spent naq 5 minutes to register on the rankings screen - that makes it no different to what it is now:

i.e. Under the current rules, I have 1 billion naq in the open - and people can see 1 billion naq in the open. Under your proposal, I have 1 billion naq in the open, I spend 800 million and so only really have 200 million in the open - but people still see 1 billion in the open - so there is no increase in the likelihood of being attacked. It actually DECREASES the chance of being attacked as people would now be more likely to recon you to check you actually have 1 billion - they then find out you don't, so they don't attack.

And how exactly do YOU 'see' other players ONLY sabotaging other players? How do you know what they do? Personally, I use my covert more for reconnaissance than sabotaging.

I found that statement quite amusing. Those commenting against this are by no means giants in the world of covert - but are actually those regular people who always comment on suggestions within this forum.
