Your idea was good but it was more involved in "ranks" at least thats how I understude it to be.....Mine is just get 10,000 soldiers buy a Capt. and your done then go for another 10k.....Your way Sleipnir envolves a hole lot more work that would..i think completely change up the game....My idea is more like adding Assasins to the game you can buy them and then your done....Except the diferent catagories have diferent bonuses....
Im not sure why a lot of people dont like the idea....right now the polls are 10 likes and 7 dont likes....but people are entitled to there opions....

Another idea, you could have ranks like...
Leuitenant <-- 10 guys
Captain <-- 100 guys
Major <-- 1,000 guys
Colonel <-- 10,000 guys
General <-- 100,000 guys

Yeah i did think of smaller things like Lt. but i decided if i did that then there would be way to much math for bonuses thats why i decided on the only 3....Your Idiea with Lt. for only 10 guys that is way to small the bonus would have to be like .1% yes that has a decamal in it.....The Generals are supposed to be the ultimate "unit" kinda and therefore 100,000 is way to little it would have to 1 million.....If you think about it there are not 20 generals in an army...at least i dont think..so there might be like 5 but thats about it.....And i know that alot of players have succeeded 100,000 soliders...
Your idea Kighty-Sai lookes more like a real army but you have to relise that this game is nothing like a real army....

The problem I have with the idea is that it would only speed up growth, not slow it down. And faster growth means that the big get stronger quicker than the little, even more so than it is now.
The idea I posted was originally a concept that could be tried in a new server or reality, not possible to implement into main. It stems from before the time of ascension. My idea was to add realism, force people to use smaller weapons, and encourage attacking because it would give experience points, needed to improve your troops. Only the experienced warriors would be able to use big weapons, therefore adding a considerable amount to your power. So someone who built up but never fought could be beat by someone who had a small but highly experienced army. Note that the idea also stems from the time before the market, when having 1000 turns was still an incredible achievement. Now that turns can be bought, the concept of experience becomes another problem.

Thats an example of getting to a short term goal that this update what make on players....
I think it was mentioned above that players would just stack units in there attack force buy 5 Sgt. and take the uu out of the attack force....What you could do is have it so that if that happened then when you where taking out the stacked units there would be a message "You can not have more Sgt. than troops to do this you have to sell your access Sgt./Capt./Gen."
Sell *box* you put the number of Sgt. you wish to sell.....there would be one for each group....
That would stop the people from have 20 Sgt. and only 10,000 Soldiers....
ROTFL! I have to realise do I? LOL! I've been playing this for over a year - I think I know how it works by now!
My point is there is no benefit to the game. I know you have tried to point out some benefits - but you haven't! Like Sleip says - this this will cause the stronger to get more poweful even more quickly than they do already - therefore making it even harder for the weaker to catch up.
My idea of a 'Good Suggestion' would be one that does not cause this exponential growth - an exponential growth that we already have due to the nature of the game. i.e. something that would give you a bonus for being smaller (not weaker) - covert would seem a good area in which to do this - as it would seem logical that 1 covert agent would be able to be more covert than 200,000 covert agents - but the problem is working it into the game so that it is fair.

LIFE IS NOT FAIR.....a lesson my dad taught me....Slei idea is way different from mine and he pointed out the fault in his...Growth rate to fast....My idea has nothing to do with growth rate....lol....you can buy maybe a 100 to 200 more guys...if this came out that is one big growth step right there *sarcasim*....
You say it would make the stronger stronger well then put a cap on the limit of buying the units....
Put in a ranking system that only non ascended players can buy the units....
Im just brain storming here...
But what makes me mad is that you say the Stronger become Stronger...
I beg you to name one just one update that changed the game significantly that did not make the stronger stronger...since you have been here for more than a year....
Now im not talking about adding a box where you can put in numbers or fixing a bug...I am asking for something like adding something that changed the game drastically.....

Okay, updates that haven't made the strongest even stronger:
1. covert used to be way overpowered - and it was updated, taking away the overwhelming power it gave the strongest players at the time.
2. limiting PPT so that the strong players that produce lots of naq cannot be on it permanently.
3. the recent market update that allows smaller players to be market goods in smaller quantities.
4. removal, and subsequent rethink and re-introduction of raid.
I could go on.......
I don't know how you can possibly claim that your idea will not make the strongest already stronger - if you have more units already then you can purchase more of these special units than everyone else to start with - thereby making you stronger.
And putting a cap on the game would not work - remember there are no resets in main - so what would be the point in continuing to play once you reach the cap.
And what did Sleip's idea have to do with anything I said?
Oh - as, for life 'not being fair' - only people who do not try and constantly moan and complain say that, I prefer to say LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT.

These are suggestions threads for people to propose their ideas and receive feedback. If people do not agree with you and all you can do in reply to criticsm is say things like 'LIFE ISN'T FAIR' or be sarcastic, then you aren't really on to a winner and are resorting to childish retorts in trying to get your point across - if you cannot argue your point civily, do not do it at all!!
Not everyone is going to agree with your ideas - in fact, in most cases you will get shot down a lot harder than what you have been here - get used to it and live with it. I personally will point out the flaws and drawbacks of an idea even if I actually like it.

Yes it is spam because the guy comes into the thread Suggested that we first fix the Untrained Mercs.....Yes that was a valid point but it was sugesting/fixing an idea....It was completly off topic....Where we talking about fixing Untrained Mercs????...NO....therefore it was spam....
Now you can argue all you want about if it was or if it was not....In my defenision that is called Spam----1. Suggesting something else in ones topic 2. A type of food we eat that consist of meat and other products

the only reason i suggest/posted that thing was becuase will i just dont see a point in making a new unit system when there is one that has massive potential to the game which are the untrained mercs....

i think the idea is interesting... tho i would do it diferently.
if you look in real life, the greater an army is, the harder it is to control...
so i think its a good idea to decrease the eficiency of larger groups, so the larger your army is , the less damage each of your soldiers will do....
this means the really strong players will get weaker compared to how much weaker the smaller players will become....
however you would be able increase the efienciency (to a normal level or closer to the normal level) by buying oficers, and generals or whatever.
this is my vision about this idea, but the concept sounds cool to me
