I'd much rather the current one personally.

If I had to see that everytime I logged in, I think I would seriously consider quitting TGWs.

It doesn't actually go with ANYTHING in the game at all... The colours, the fonts... its all very meh.

ya maybe if it was less bright it would be a bit better... not so vibrant... i dunno... whatever... doesn't really matter all that much to me

Well, earlier in this thread, I said I am open to anyone creating another style banner...I think it would be good to have a new banner for the site..no matter who made it.

As to your claim that it has'nt anything to fo with the game...it is an image of a wormhole connecting from one point to another, via the stargate system...this IS stargatewars....i'll leave it up to you to make the connection.

oh your questioning intelligence? You sit here and say that you prefer that old decrepid banner that was thrown together and stretched out 50% too much, over something that is proportionate and clean looking..and you didnt have an opinion of your own, you cloned someone elses opinion so stuff it. As I said before.. the old banner has to go--it looks like crap and the game has evolved to a point where it needs to be updated..i dont care who makes the banner, but i would like to see what you have to offer before you kill yourself over mine **MODDED**

Anyway, I sort of like the design, it's better than the current one, at least, but I fear it's a bit of a heavy file size for the banner, seeing as this is one of the only online games people with dialup can play. I think they might be just a bit cheesed if they came to the site and realized they had to wait a minute for EVERY page to load. Perhaps you could either compress it or make a new design that isn't as graphic intensive.

making the file smaller in dl time is trivial ..........either you like this banner or not, lol

I'm guessing you have at least DSL, do you even realize how frustrating dialup can be? The average download speed for dialup is 2-3 KB/Sec, and that banner is 124 KB. Do the math, that's close to a minute of wait time per page. Imagine how annoying that would be, a minute every time you wanted to check your attack log or train a few miners. A light page size is key to a good website.

PS: Just for reference, I suffered with dialup for more than five years, now I have sattelite, still crap for games >.<.

as 311 said..making the image compress better to be smaller is nothing..do you like the image?

I made a banner that I think is cool, as well as an even smaller file size than the current banner.

well obviously--you comments about its loading speed were a pre-empt to your introducing your own idea...fact is..i can make a banner that has 5 times the "activity" as my first one and still have it remain under 10kb.. its all a matter of systematic format. This thread was never about " do you like the loading speed of my images", but you are definetley entitled to your opinion...your banner is cool..but like the current one.. it was thrown together, and stretched apart...and yours uses a proprietary image from Stargate Atlantis...this sitew already had a banner that had images like that and was asked to remove it by MGM..nice try though. Maybe you can build a stargate.....

Alright, it is pretty distorted, and it was made in about ten minutes, but I just made it so people would have a few more choices about a banner. I know I can't hold a candle artistically, but that really doesn't mean you can be smug and downright rude to anyone on here who holds a different opinion. Believe it or not, I didn't have a master plan to make people anxious about your picture's file size and than unveil my amazing masterpiece, I just made a comment and then posted my own little design. I know it's frustrating when you work really hard on something and it doesn't get the reaction you wanted, but just chill out.
