don't worry... I ascended with 67k lifers, and i'm still alive and kicking...
actually I ascended with 67k lifers 3 times...
it's fine to ascned without lifers

Ascended Twice first time it was Crap and i found it hard to Build back up but being a Darn Stubbern Anceint i did it and got powerful again
, Ascended again with 166K of Lifers and im at half power withing a week or so so Ascend with Lifers!

I need 188 more G&R before ascending,
I think I'll do what you said and get 1mill lifers
(if I get bored I'll stop at 500k, not less)
right now I have 200k lifers

I find the best way to ascend is to have the minimum you need not lifers tho... get as many as you can
I am planning to ascend all 6 times before december... 21 days each ascention
I ascended and sent 200kUU and 80bill naq to an alliance buddy and got it sent back within 1 day I was back into the top 1k earning GnR again
I will be doing the same!
before i chose to ascend I had a UP of 20k(base) silly... and covert lvl 25 :/ so i kinda miss those but getting the bonus is grand

I can easily get up to gr ranks with what I have... (though I prefer to raid for a while)
