Another bonus, to go along with the hyper aggresive nature, could be a simple passive increase to the number of attack turns, say +2 to +5, not upgradable, since they don't have other technology advantages.

This I'm thinking would be too powerful!
Also, Slepnir has some good ideas in mind in this thread:
http://www.stargatewars.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3700
I believe the recent covert solution proposed by Sleipner is responsible for the Covert update. Perhaps we can count on his latest good idea to be included as well, ha has a track record.
If this is the case, The update would balance the wraiths given abilities quite nice!! In response to those who believe the wraith would become too strong! Extra cash to burn for those "upgrade mine capacity" This could be a tedious thing for the wraith! Someone stated in the mining proposal to that it would be fair to finally give a race a UP bonus. All for it!! Then we can bring back the RAID feature for Wraith and its highly reasonable!
Especially since they are not sealing your untrained, just an agreed percent as recommended by forum himself of the enemies casualties of battle.
But the Wraith should untder no circumstances get a discount on the mining upgrades, just a vice you have to deal with. It will come with the territory. Give it to Goa'uld (BC the income thinggy)

I don't play quantum, but I'd love to see the damage a wraith alliance would do in sgw.

one slight thing... you can only convert as many units as you have attacking... otherwise someone with a reasonable attack but quite small can just attack someone with a wacking army, but i think is should only be 0 -15% as some battle it would gain you a canny increase in troops

Personaly i think troop quality should determine it as well as numbers as if your army is lots of super soilders they are more experienced so should take a biger number of troops than mercs and normal attack troops. mercs should take the least then trained and super soilders the most.
Ps u know ur warriors and caretakers are they normal troops if so then how about keepers for defence and hive warriors for attack super soilders.

yeah i guess your right how about calling it something like mass culling or the hive awakes. Repersents the end of the wraiths hibernation cyle when they all come out to feed.

So the Wraith Raid feature ends up looking something like this?
When a Wraith attack is successful it takes from 1-25% (randomly determined) of the casualties it inflicts as prisoners (which become Untrained Units), subject to the following limitations:
Max 1 Untrained Unit per Attack Merc
Max 2 Untrained Unit per Attack Unit
Max 4 Untrained Unit per Attack Super Soldier
Of course the Wraith attack will automatically inflict more casualties when it uses more Attack Turns in an attack, so larger attacks will result in more prisoners.
This means we end up with Wraith players who are encouraged to be aggressive and cosuc on attacking rather than defending, and also who are more likely to use Attack Units rather than Mercs as Attack Units take more prisoners (this makes simply hoarding the Untrained Units less appealing). It also means that the Wraith players would not only be interested in high yields of Naquadah, but in those who have sprawling, massive armies that they can harvest. Very characterful if you ask me!

They are only supremely powerful in the series. That doesn't mean they will be here. Just look at the Replicators - in the series they almost annihilated the Asgard, and crushed the Goa'uld in a matter of weeks, yet here they are firmly entrenched in last place.
Of all the potential races that could be built into this game, I think the Wraith would be the most interesting. They have loads of potential, and are unlike any other race (unlike say the Tok'ra or the Tollans).
For the best results the inclusion of the Wraith would best be left until we've seen a fair amount of the second season of Atlantis (conveniently, this gives good ol' Forum ample time to invest in the Ascension Server and any other splendid projects he's busy beavering away on).
What we've seen here has been wonderfully sane and down to earth thinking though - nothing horribly game breaking or silly. Good work Saturnine!

The bonuses of SGW:
Goa'uld are encouraged to invest and afford lavish upgrades
Replicators are incouraged to build covert skills
Asgard are encouraged to build defenses and UP to become indigenous with their incomes per turn.
But now we are left with the Tauri.
They are steamlined to be agressive, offensive. I honestly believe their bonus has contributed to their domination of the galaxies. That is the only reason they have control, it has nothing to do with stragtegy, It has everything to do with who has the biggest guns.
I could build defense, UP and covert for months in the 3000's. The minute I buy 10 of the best strike weapons, I am catapulted throught the ranks!!
Another offensive inclined race would help keep it intresting ingame.
Someone mentioned the difference between race ideas. Referencing Tollan and Tokra. Each would fall either under Tauri and Goa'uld. Wraith is the only actual "unique" race we can include. An intresting race with its own bonus, an actual new "race" to add to SGW. We have the knowledge about them to include them, why not?

You've obviously spent some time on this and put some thought into it - and I like most of it - except the raid type feature. Never liked that and never will - certainly not in the format it was!
I think it is worthy of consideration.

idea
Give the wraiths there own server full of wraiths and human players, if the wraiths ever wanted to enter our galaxy they must have the sufficient glory/reputation points to hual themselves to the milky way.

Sounds good!! But we'd probally need three more seasons tops of Atlantis to make another unique server. We dont have too many races strictly Atlantis to put therein. The other races like the Genii are too vague to piece into a valid race! Give it some time! I bet this idea would be better savored with a little time behind it!
