I couldn't believe that scene. It was so incredibly awesome, especially when they jump from atmo. Wow...I was so glad I was recording.

chunkysoup wrote:And oh yea, how did Tigh kill his wife? All I saw was her leaning her head on his shoulder, then she drops the glass, and he lays her down and cries over her body... And she's dead. Poison in the cup? Did I miss something? But yea thank God she's gone.

Yup, he poisoned her. Was it just me or did they play it so that you could see it either that she did or didn't know what was happening? I've watched the scene several times and I keep changing my mind rather she knew what she was doing or not.

chunkysoup wrote:And for the 50th time, Baltar is not a freaking cylon, repeat, NOT A CYLON.

I am not so sure. Especially after this past week's episode, I'm growing more convinced that he might not only be a Cylon but he might be THE Cylon.

Number 1 reason he's not Cylon (and trust me, there's tons more) - the Cylon's screwed up all of the humans' defenses by infiltrating Caprica Six - she hooked up with Baltar, fixed all his formulas, his programs got uploaded to all the ships, bam Cylons win. So, if he's a Cylon, why is Caprica Six there...

Because, just like Boomer, it wasn't time for him to be "activated" yet. If he's not a Cylon, then how do you explain his survival after the nuke? We know that Six was completely destroyed as was his home. And yet, in the next scene we see him running with only a scratch on his forehead? Highly unlikely. And his ability to "discover" so much information about Cylon technology? He's been responsible for picking out details on several occasions that should not be available to a human. And again, after this past week with the "projection" discussion and the discussion about the remaining five models, I am more convinced than not.

I'm not saying that he definately is. But Moore is at least trying to play with the idea and make us question it. Particularly when you consider how vague he's been with the commentaries versus how much he explains about so many other things.

By that same reasoning, "it wasn't his time to be activated yet," everyone, even Adama, could be a Cylon.

Cylons get damaged in explosions and such as well as humans do, they get the same amount of scars etc, so how many scars he did and did not have after the nuke went off does nothing to make him more Cylon.

Also, Caprica Six has throughout the series wanted to impregnate herself with his child, and we know that two cylons can't give birth, one of the two partners needs to be human.

Which is another theory going around...

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear, but that's why I think he's a Cylon. I think that Baltar might have been destroyed with Six and the one we see running through the field could be a different one.

in one of the episode, six wakes up in a new body... And she sees an imaginary baltar who "comunicates" with her... The same happens to Baltar with the number 6 in his mind....

This suggests that baltar could be a cylon... But then in one of the recent episodes of galactica, the cylons only are affected by a virus but baltar isn't...

I dunno to be honest if baltar is a cylon for sure... in one episode it seems likely, but in the others, it looks unlikely...

When Baltar went to the infected base ship we cannot one way or another use that as evidence. He was wearing a space suit. he was completely sealed up so that the virus would have had no way to get into his immune system.

And the Six/Baltar imaginary relationship I think is an off spring of their psychotic minds do either of them seem sane?

Why would they have baltar as a sleeper? Six was just supposed to get the codes up loaded then die in the war and be downloaded. What are the chances that the Cylons would have predicted that the humans would have gotten away and need soemone in the fleet as a sleeper?

no, i would wager my left testacle on baltar being human. hes the personification of all the self destructive selfish self absorbed traits of humanity. its not the cylons that are beating us, were beating ourselves and baltars the pinnacle of that. its much better to me if hes a human cos i like that idea... but then again, how do you explain the episode on new caprica with the cylons when baltar was in six's head?

(oh and again thnx haktar, i just watched the first episode of the new series and im goin back to watch the next one now... saul is such a hardass, and now hell have a patch!)

I understand what you're saying, but that is all the more reason why I think it would be great if he was a Cylon. Think about it, each of them wants to be so much like humans and each captures some trait of humanity, while lacking others. Baltar could turn out to be the perfect Cylon in that sense. He has truly achieved such a human nature that he is, in all discernable ways, a human while being a Cylon.

he lacks compassion, is totally out to save his own skin, and is helping the cylons get to earth so they can destroy the rest of humanity. I'd say Baltar lacks the qualities that make us human.

Col Tigh is the perfect example of a human. He cares, he loves, he hurts.
