Lord Thanatos wrote:the solution is to get a CO that will stick with his alliance

I've got a bit more paticence than Wolf(:P) on this, so I'll explain why that doesn't work. I have no plans to leave Omega anytime in the near future. Let's say that I get some officers. Then another bug comes across and I'm kicked from the alliance because of the bug. So, EtL sends me a reinvite. All my officers will be forced into the alliance again. I didn't change alliances, yet they were still forced into the alliance and must be kicked out, then they rejoin their own alliance.

This suggestion is definately needed.

Seeing as this is the official thread, I thought I'd post my support for this. It is also annoying when a CO leaves an alliance, espcially if it is only switching to a sister/allied alliance.

I sure hope so. I never really understood the necessity of having officers follow commanders around, but at the same time allowing for them to be in different alliances. It should be either one or the other. Either keep officers in the same alliance as commanders at all times (meaning no booting or signing up for another alliance). Or give officers the freedom to choose their own alliance, in which case they shouldn't follow the commander under any circumstances. The middle ground right now is just annoying.
