Somthing I'd like to clarify.

Who cares if only a couple of epople ever win it? thats the point, it should be a reward, not, here all you active people get an award, that ruins the main goal of the idea, which is to create a more aggresive top ranks, because, in the end, the goal is to be at the top.

we felt that there could be two sets of rewards, one set for the top few hundred, and one slightly larger set for the rest...

In my humble opinion:
That can be a goal for some, but not necessarily for all. There a re a lot of people who don't really try to catch up because they feel like it isn't possible to reach the top of the leaderboard.

If the idea is based on just a select few(ie. top 100) getting it, then I don't support the idea due to the possible stratification it would create in the SGW universe, in light of concerns raised of gaps between players. At the same time, even though there is a gap doesn't mean that it can't be overcome, and the presence of a gap doesn't mean that a player should stop trying.

At the same time, I just don't think there should be an official(something created by Forum as a permanent funcation of the game) in-game contest for a minority of players.

Just my two pence.

well there is one problem,
how do you calculate the increase`?

i mean for example take me:
i am rank 555
yesterday i was in the 5k without the mothership weapons.

i could get into the top ten in three days at max if i focussed all my spending on it.
(training additionaly 1,xxx mill spies or even 2 and get weapons for my strike supers)

do you see what i mean?
where the difficulty lies, and there are many more people that simple dont bother or were massed and dont care to to get there again

It seems to me that all the best players would have to do, is sit in the very low ranks and when calculation time comes around boost there accounts to the top and they would auto win taking what the lower rank players would need.

just my ideas,

that was why the requirement we suggested was to not have been in any pool above within the last month, and to be an award for increasing this or that stat, not for having the best stat in the pool...

Well, If lots of people sat in the low ranks, and at the last minute boosted their stats, that would also be interesting.

I just want a reward for those, now matter how few, have made it to the top. Just because not everybody has a chance at winning it shouldn't mean we scrap the idea on that grounds. I'd like to hear somthing from admins, since they will be the ones giving out the reward.
