I think it's alright to make them delete aslong as your intention is for them to get another account in order to destroy their UP, if you actually want them out of the game, then no.

LOL !!

I don't care if you find it funny or not.

They bullied me when I was smaller then them, and then stopped thanks to Flavar and some friends. Then when I grew stronger I got my revenge. And my revenge was sitting on their accounts and in the meantime they deleted themselves.

They were also suspected of having multies.

Anyways, I don't use that as a threat though. Don't have a reason for it. I do sit on accounts that are my enemis though. That''s a good tactic.

I don't want my enemis to delete themselves, coz that kind of takes away the fun.

Best regards,
KJ

Sitting on an account until deletion? No, I don't think that forcing people to delete is fair, but I will sit on someone just to beat the crap out of them.

And if they happen to delete, it's their problem. :)

Unomosh wrote:But in comes the BS excuse of this being a "war game" and all that jazz so people think its cool to go around massing people for irrelevant reasons.

A very common reason/excuse used by the culprits.

Its a game... and war is a part of it. Ultimately the point of a game is to have fun, and war (EDIT: in a game - not in rl ofc) is fun... but that usually involves your opponent fighting back.

Of course, trying to force someone to delete is not ethical or moral, but that's isn't part of terms of service when you signup. When you see this happen it is rather distressing, especially for the future of the game, but I would think more about the reasons why its happening (end of the day, ethics is very low on the list of priorities).

I haven't been around long, so don't exactly what the game was like before, but imagine this would be less of problem when you have more (even) competition. I.e. alliances are fighting to improve there rank, #1 vs. #2, #3 vs. 4, ... #1000 vs. #1001, and alliances/treaties/blocks are kept fluid so that they change depending on the situation. If that happens, there's no reason to raise questions honour/ethics, as your too busy fighting each other :P

No, making someone to delete is not nice thing to do...
I personally would only do that to REALLY abusive players, scammers and cheaters.

depends on who it is and what reason he is being sat on. Scammers, cheats, exploiters, ect.. I have no problem sitting on till they quit. But ppl who are trying to play the game their way I wont really bother...

I think.... sitting on somebody's account isn't exactlly morally wrong...
but...

it's shouldn't be done too often...
and it's part of the game already...^.^

and I even said that regarding Tok'ra... although I wouldn't really mind him leaving the game...

Kinda hard for me to want to negotaite when MojoRising is sending PMs ingame comparing me to Al Qaida.

sitting on someone until they delete? dont like it

having someone mass you just before they delete, and thinking they go out as a hero? just as bad

Honours and Awards

Jenny. Rahl, and Bryan nailed it on the head.

It is even sometimes necessary, but shouldn't be use as a daily tactic. Many fewer people would receive that fate if they would walk away after a good massing instead of running to forums whinning and complaining and asking for help. Bill has proved this point many times. I can remember one guy who talked his way out of a massing from Bill and even got him to recommend him to his alliance mates as an officer.

In some rare occasions it is needed such as mentioned cheaters/scammers etc & as a community you should all help to wipe out these people, not leave it to some like it was with Neb. if it had not been for players like ETL & a few of us he would have ruined the game.

As for what KJ said, yes there are bullies, but then to have your revenge in the same way, is not the way. but I do understand.

I was none of the above but hey, I apparently was sat on till I deleted Dyneasty. Hensenshi, say that but you supported Bill sitting on me...

Wow...Feels like the elections all over again...
