What's the highest merc tech upgrade?

on my old account now deleted i had option for 70%
on my new one ascendent only 4 tech
is a litlle strange for me
but maybe is because replicators have more?

well, from what ive gathered:

unascended gets 3 (25% base + 3*10%)
(no differences between race)

for each ascention you get 1 more merc upgrade, meaning an extra 10%
(again, no differences between race, only level of ascention)
im LG+1 and i get 8 mer upgrades meaning,
25% + 80% = 105% mercs

im pretty sure it works that way up to AG...
25% + 10*10% = 125%

over 100% just means u can have more mercs then trained troops... provided u hav enough supers to team up with them (thnx to the new update...)

An unascended goauld account get the following maxed out:

Merc Control Power Level 1
Merc Control Power Level 2
Merc Control Power Level 3
Merc Control Power Level 4

Which grants:
You can only have 65.00 percent (base of 25 plus 40 percent in upgrades) of your trained troops as mercenaries.

I believe that goaulds get one bonus one as it's linked to their racial ability, so for the others it would be only three levels.

Ah, so my getting 7 and up to 70% is not normal?

Any ideas why I would get these? The only thing I can think of is 1) bug, or 2) account has previously ascended but then changed to normal race but kept the bonus techs

Any way of finding out if it is option 2 without bothering Jason?

the highest is lvl 8, +100%, for total of 125% of trained units

there is difference between races; less gives asgard, i think it was 50 %, 3 techs; i am tau´ri now, never ascended, and have 75% with 5 techs

How can you have more then your army if you need them to be paired?

um ..... good question .... i´d say you can´t with the new update?

edit: you CAN! cuz it says: ADDITIONALLY - each Merc (attack or defence) is paired with a 'super soldier' (attack or defence). This means that you can only have as many attack/def Mercs as you have supers of that type. (plus 10% for each merc level)



and i actually have more mercs then supers of one type ...

since untrained basically do nothing...they dont count towards the %.

I know an unascend player who has 80%. It was a glitch when he changed race, the merc command didn't reset so it kept increasing.

You can only have 55.00 percent (base of 25 plus 30 percent in upgrades) of your trained troops as mercenaries.
Beyond that, you do not have enough troops loyal to you to ensure compliance to your orders.

That must be what I had....because I just ascended and have only got 3 merc techs.
