no, docking cant be permitted right after stealing planet... as that would just fuel another wave of multies...
besides, why would a small player need to weaken the bigger ones? they arent that likely to strike at you, so why should you strike at them?

Why would a bigger guy strike at a smaller guy? PLEASE!
It happens all the time. I've seen a whole alliance massed just because something minor happened and the bigger guys wanted to flex their muscles (and egos).
It's happened to me. I had someone steal my planet, someone much weaker than me, but part of a big alliance. In the end i never did anything aggressive (other than stealing my planet back 4 times), and i got massed by the big guys in the alliance. Is that fair? The only way i could fight back in that situation was to steal planets and space em. That's the ONLY way i could ever get them to stop hitting me.
THAT'S why a smaller guy needs to be able to fight back....there's no other way.
If the balance of power continues to favour the bigger guys, this game will see accounts so big that they could mass most of the people in this game. Then who's gonna start playing? A lot of people will quit playing because its so unfair.
Ya gotta give the smaller guys somethin'

Having to train/untrain fleets can get quite expensive. I think this would even the playing field a little bit![]()
Also, would you be able to build on your mothership while docked. It seems like it would be silly NOT to allow improvements.
WIth the above in mind, I love the idea!
Yes you could build on your mothership while docked...that was mentioned as one of the perks of docking your MS...especially for newbies...
As for stealing planets...I'm thinking that you'd have to keep your MS out for a while afterwards...just to ensure that the planet makes it to it's destination...

Excellent Idea, though needs some tweeking. As someone mentioned a delay after steeling a planet is a must. And maybe a delay after it is used in a strike aswell. I can see you wanting to keep it safe and all, but i dont' think it should be able to mass someone, then immediatly be docked and hidden. So add a 12 hour delay after a planet theft and a 6 hour delay after its used in attack and I think its a great Idea.

I like it all except for the initial price for the tech, and the cost per usage.
Instead of 1bil for the tech, make it a percentage of total bank size like 10% or so. And then say like 50 AT to put it on and off, with a minimum time of 2 hours, which makes it a bit longer so it can't be used for a simple hiding technique.

What it does
For a specific cost in turns, you can put your mothership in a "dry-dock", effectively preventing it from taking damage during an attack, the drawback being that it cannot be used by you unless you un-dock it.
Send your MS planet searching

With system lord it should totally be called like 'hidden in a space minefield' like where apophis brought his cloaked fleet to destroy that other system lord, with a mothership hidden there no one could touch it. And yeah, I like the idea, initial cost to make the mothership dock shouldn't be more expensive then the mothership in the first place, imo, and if you think about it should be necessary to have it before your mothership. 50 turns on and off seems reasonable.
