Actually, if i where to read into some of the changes on chaos, i believe forum is working on security atm, and testing it on chaos (poor chaos players).
And along with REK, i have noticed him more latly, you just have to look.
He doesn't do his business in the public, and he doesnt visit the general section, and so on.
Now, if you think, its as easy to find these cheaters as clicking your fingers, why don't you shift through months of logs, looking for where they took the information, or how. And why don't you come up with ways to prevent the greatest problem to forum of all, OUR stupidity.

very true, stupidity does play a large part, but i had a very interesting convo this morn have gained a new insight into this security issue....its not something i can post, but suffice to say its easier to fix than we believe.
this isn't about tracing the hackers, but about 1st plugging the hole.

your all saying he shouldnt have to be here all the time and sort it, but isnt it kinda his job to be here all the time and sort things seeing as many people pay him with ss and whatnot to sort it? just an observation really

Ok, so we limit players to 1 IP per account.
Anyone, on AOL at all, would no longer be able to play. Not to mention people on countless other ISP's.
Don't even get me started on everyone on Dial up.
There is no "easy" fix, its as simple as that.
Forum implements fixes as he can, in fact hes doing one on chaos atm, which prevents people from being stupid and entering data over fake websites (that would still log you in, but record your user data for a hacker to use later).

I wouldn't be supprised if Admin had the hump with the community for all the winging and moaning that goes on, he is probably hacked off with the constant e-mails he gets about stupuid little things. He probably doesn't even want to read the forum as most of the stuff that he needs to read are most likely things that ppl are moaning about. I personaly dont balme is inaciveness if he feels any of the above.

Barbarian and I both just received a name change in ascended so that we can resolve our identity issues. Admin is there, he's busy, but he is there.

Get off his back, he does all he can for this game, so what if he doesn't post in stargatewars general? I agree with Slicky, if this is what he has to look forward to then I would not come either.
He has a family too and can't be around 24/7 - People got hacked, yes it's bad but in everything online this will happen, what matters is he tries to sort it which he does behind the scenes.
Pointless topic, can it be locked?

Definitely sux. I log in from min of 3 IP - from school library, from work and from home. And Im not the only one,ppl are on the move these days, they dont spend all their time in one place (unless being psychos locked up somewhere...). I dont think that locking IP will solve this...

Admin, like the rest of us, has a life and cant be expected to be here 24/7 to do everything. I was lucky enough to speak with him on Meet The Admin day, and I can safely tell you that he would be doing everything he can to make sure stuff like this doesnt happen again.
Perhaps you should try being admin for a day, and then see if you have the time to do everything people have come to expect of him.
Running Kingdom Games is a business, one that should be taken with full responsibility.
as for being admin for a day, I've been there done that more then once.
as for locking to IP's, think of static and dynamic IP's

Someone's already said it but:
Mountain out of a molehill.
I'm sure there's alot of behind the scenes stuff that admin is doing for us, but it always goes unappreciated or unrecognized because we never know about it.
Nothing is perfect in life. This game is free. Have fun playing it, but do know that you'll have to go over a bump every now and then. The number of hacked accounts isn't anything to be alarmed over. I don't think that there is a security 'loophole' that is allowing these hackers easy access to accounts. I bet you that it's someone just brute forcing usernames and passwords for a given email address. Use a completely different username, email and password for this game and I'll bet you a nickel you won't get hacked.
Settle down.
