The episode was nice. Although I expected a NEW ship from the description, but ended up seeing just another Daedalus-class vessel - this one disappointed me. The satellite weapon is awesome - truly ingenious.

I expected another daedalus class. its only been 2years since the first one was made thats it, cant get another class every two years the goold had theirs for like 10k years asgard probably longer, and people expect change after 2years

Also another thing I expected, Horizon, wasnt anything to do with the ship, it wasn't an upgrade, just a new type os missle holder.

i think they should build a bigger ship

why bigger? why not smaller? like a ship about 2-3 times larger than a cargo ship, and fully armed, shielded, with cloak & capable of beaming...

think how powerful it would be to have hundreds of such ships... or a few with ZPM to power them, and drones as primary weapons... much more dangerous than a single huge ship...

The problem is, humans still doesn't have any Battleship yet. Daedalus is rather transport ship with good defenses, but attack power of Daedalus is low to minimum. Something that would be able to engage Wraith Hive in one-on-one combat and actually destroy it. And why I expect new class every two years? it's just that Asgard owes their small grey asses to humans.
I don't think drones could be used as primary weapon for any human made ship, because there are not so many drones available. You can't take away the drones - primary defense system - from Atlantis. You can't take drones from jumpers. You can't take drones from Antarctica outpost. Unless they defeat Asurans and find **Filtered** of drones(and ZPMs) there, it is not possible. But yes, hundreds of smaller, but powerful ships would be nice.

but the asgard did have a new ship >_> they blew it up but atleast it was new and a larger ship they would more than likly have to build a space dock to make it the place where there building there current ships is only jsut big enough dont you think so there sticking to the size they can build for now and make alot of them cause they are quicker than hataks but they could do with retro engeniring some energy weapons they have enough goa'uld weapons to work with and im sure that the asgard could laod some knoledge of there weapons

hmm... maybe get the asgard to lend them some power source? then build hundreds of small ships with that on board... fast, cloaked & shielded warships... much more effective than single slow battleships...

well a bigger ship would allow them to transport more people back and forth and maybe allow a stargate on board

but when i was looking for a picture fir my sig i came across the Tauri ships



and ye the humans do need a new power source and weapons but they cant rely on the asgard all the time

the strict defense technology will still say, as long as it cant be used offensively we wont get anything, disregard the weapon beaming.

oooooo jsut thought of a funny way to get through Ori sheilds haha

you know that thingy that merlin used to hide himself whilst he did his reserch well carted has been working o it and if she can figure it out she will be able to make versions of it attach one of them to a large nuke that can be controled get a transport ship with a cloak fly in close to the Ori ship release this out-phased nuke and steer it to the Ori ship it floats through the sheilds and BANG one ship gone mwuhahahaha

and for the people that think because it is out phased that it wont work there is a timer on both one to bring it back into this dimension and another a split second behind to set the nuke haha its a strange idea i know but what do you all think lol

@GAT-X207: we did not mean weapons' beaming, but rather that they lend out a power source that can power shields, cloak & hyperdrive... and to borrow beaming tech to allow transport to the ship... we know they wont lend out weapons' technology...

@tomj_302: where is that image from? what are all those extra classes of ships? the ship idea we had was about the size of that destroyer class on your picture...

@vindicare: interesting idea... but the problem is that they dont have more than one merlin's cloak... had they been able to replicate it, this would have been possible...

one thing that could work better than to build huge ships would be to take an large asteroid, and hollow out parts of it, then build a military space dock and construction yard in it... perfect base for assault, as it is capable of making ships, is relatively inconspicious, and it can be moved... also, if it is geologically active, it can be self-powered through geo-thermal power...

Your all crazy, you want to change how the Daedalus looks? itl cost them billions of dollars. Just to change how it bloody well looks. The daedalus class is fine it can hold its own against The Gouold the wraith and thats all it needs to do. No matter how big we build a ship the Ori will still pwn us.

And we havent even seen it fight a Goauld ship yet however every speculation in the series indicates it could take one on quite easily, especially if they used the mark9 super nukes or whatever. Can shoot those things out en mass as we saw in No Mans Lands, however the Goauld have no way of stopping them
