As in short, nobody knows yet what it will be about, its in early development. Gaol is to have it aired somewhere around beginning of 2008...

GateWorld wrote:"It'll have the same flavor as Stargate SG-1," he said. "... It's the approach to the storytelling that I think makes it unique, and that makes it Stargate. And that's that it has a sense of humor, and it's people from our time going on these adventures. It's not set in the future. ... I think that's what makes it unique, and I think that's what a third series would have to have for it to succeed."

Think that means it will not be related to future(or at least far future).

I much prefer the RDA era of SG-1 to SG: A.

(Warning, strong anti-SG A opinions below.)

---------------------------

Imho, SG-A lacks some of the acting power (Rodeny aside), and most importantly has issues with power creep. The introduction of terrible 'native' characters, with 'teh zuber omgz adaptations' (Telya the Celtic banshee, and Ronan the Conan) only add to that.

There were a few episodes that I found to be very well done, but on the whole, they lack the original SG-1 flavor. All in all, I love the idea, but once wraith went from formidable warriors to P-90 fodder... bleh.
Power creep is fine, but you shouldn't go from scurrying around like a rat to being master of the universe in three seasons. It took SG-1 nine iirc.
